Paul added yet another accolade to his unparalleled list of achievements, as he was awarded with the statue for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards last night.
The Grammy went to the live version of "Helter Skelter" from Good Evening New York City (Hear Music/Concord), the gold-certified document of Paul's legendary 2009 three-night stand at Citi Field.
Paul commented, "It was a big surprise to me that came at the end of Valentine's Day eve after we'd just got away from the BAFTA's aftershow party. I got a text saying 'You won the Grammy'. It was brilliant. Even though I couldn't be there this year it was extremely exciting to get the news late at night - we all went wild!"
The Beatles were also honoured with the Best Historical Album award for the Stereo Box Set with all the remastered albums.www.paulmccartney.com/news.php#/2123/2011-02I wonder, when is he going to pick up that Golden Statue? oh, maybe it's still out getting engraved. ;D

(RTTNews) - It's shaping up to be a busy 2011 for Sir Paul McCartney, who is currently writing the score to an upcoming ballet that will open in both New York City and London. The former Beatle broke the news during a recent interview with Britain's The Sun and says it's a new experience for him. "I have been working on a ballet for a while. I'll be making a proper announcement in a few weeks. It is a really exciting project for me," he told the tabloid. Sir Paul was also recently confirmed as a performer at the upcoming wedding of Britain's Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton. According to showbizspy.com, a source close to the couple revealed that McCartney is humbled by the opportunity to appear at the royal wedding."Prince William is following in his mother Princess Diana's footsteps by inviting a host of famous friends to join him on his wedding day," the source noted. "Paul McCartney has been asked to do a few numbers and he said he feels very privileged." www.rttnews.com/Content/EntertainmentNews.aspx?Section=2&Id=1553820&SM=1

I think that was written before he was dis-invited. I don't know now whether he is invited or not.
