de la roche. reminding me of the dastardly cardinal in the three musketeers for one reason or another. penetrating the peerage of france i reckon will be like learning how to construct the tree of life with all the appropriate attributions and the paths with their titles. this is why conspiracy theories are so popular in america and australia. and a perfect example of how an "obscure" work by francois rabelais could be incorporated into a new revised history of france and from that seed an alternate history of europe. pierre plantard and that sort of business. but the tapestry you failed to show was the young woman with her dog biting the unicorn. this makes me think of the symbol of the chained unicorn on the british crest. it should. but i realize now the unicorn is a "pagan" symbol adopted as a christian motif - it could only be approached by a virgin and that sort of thing. and considering the de la roche family set up priories and abbeys its likely the unicorn in these tapestries acts as a bridge. a roman cathllic bridge. thank you iameye now let us see how far this train of thought goes.

Actually, if you followed the story, the unicorn comes back to life at the end And stays on it's own volition.
