I just saw Brian Epstein on a vintage episode of "What's My Line?" ;D He signed in as "Mr. X" because they knew his name would be recognizable, but not likely his face. Panel member Paul Anka disqualified himself, saying "I believe I know this gentleman". However, panelists Dorothy Kilgallen and Bennet Cerf honed right in on him -- Miss Kilgallen asked him to say " Mary had a little lamb", to determine if he had an accent . Panelist Arlene Francis then cracked, " oh! He's the little lamb that Mary had!" Miss Kilgallen determined his line of work very quickly, but was thrown by Paul Anka's disqualifying himself, and asked "Mr. X" if he had booked Paul Anka's tour. With the "no" answer, questioning went to Bennett Cerf, who hit immediately on The Beatles. Host John Charles Daly introduced Brian as "the man who discovered the Beatles". Mr. Cerf then jokingly asked if he ever had a moment where he "regretted the whole thing". Brian replied, "There hasn't been a sorry moment." Miss Kilgallen then interjected ,"they are so cute, sweet, and lovable." ;D ~~~~The episode was from 1964. ****************************** last night I ran across this picture of Angela Cartwright, "Penny Robinson" from Lost In Space, meeting the guys:

Xpt, where did you see that, is the Game Show Network running old shows again? I used to watch the block of oldies on Sunday night back when they used to do that. It was great when you would see a gem like that, for example Pete Best on I've Got a Secret. They are also an inadvertant source of history, because the panelists often make references to current events of the time.

yup, Game Show Network. They only give us an hour of the old shows now, 4-5 am. 4am is usually Password, on the weekends sometimes they run Beat the Clock in the 4am slot. 4:30 is What's My Line. ;D
