Y'all come! Please! We should det up an NIR-PID booth! www.abbeyroadontheriver.net/ I'll report back to you, of course, but the more the merrier! Come Together! Well, I don't want to be rude, but... according to Google it's exactly 5,125 miles from Riga to Scranton, including swimming over the Atlantic Ocean, but you have to go only 20.1 miles. You should put a (except for Latvietis) after Y'all come. ;D

Y'all come! Please! We should set up an NIR-PID booth! Knowin' how some Beatle fans react when ya bring up PID/PWR in a Beatles fan forum.... I'm not so sure about this! I think in the time it takes to get yerself banned from a Beatles fan forum; an angry mob could pretty much destroy a PID booth!

Well here we go: The Abbey Road on the River fest was great, but I had to leave early, and so I only got to see four of the 20 bands. Even so, it was great! And I was going to try to get some merchandise, but Holy Sh**! it was expensive!! Coffee mugs and T-shirts started at $20! The cheapest bumper sticker was $3.00. I bought a plastic cup of beer, and it cost $5! Even so, I was able to get a few pictures: As you can see, the Beatles have scaled back some since their hey-day, driving big yellow magic buses. They did, however, adopt Plastic Paul's avatars for their new minivan, and asked me to thank him for the inspiration: I was able to pose with Paul, who, as you will notice, has gained a little weight since his Pepper days: But the big surprise was that George really was replaced by Feric! He was a good sport about it all, and, in fact, was quite cordial. We got into a discussion about Disraeli Gears. And here they are as they appear these days, with Mike Love filling in for Billy Preston: OK, I lied. These guys are the "Number Nine" from Berks county, Pa. (north of Philly), and, yeah, they're good. I found myself wanting to tell the band members what the songs were really about, which was frustrating, but, eh....whatchagonna do. I really wish you all could have been there. It was a lot of fun. And that's John at the bottom right hand, last picture. (Well I knew he'd be there in spirit! There is an orb hidden in the first picture. ) A splendid time was had by all; incarnate and otherwise.

I would have liked to have been there 4KH, but it was a bit far. Driving distance in theory, but I'd need a few days to recover.. Would have been great to hear all those cover bands, wow!
Interesting shirt, heh. ;D Did you find that people didn't look you in the eye right away?

Well.. 4KH has been busy, first a Beatlefest and then he visits Portsmouth NH, just a few miles from me. So.. we and a relative of his had lunch at a charming little Italian takeout and PWR chat today. Mr. 4KH is a good guy, and thanks for inviting me. See you on the board when you get back to your computer..
