Hey, obviously we all love the Beatles, but what other kinds of music do you enjoy? I'm primarily a classic rocker, but my tastes are pretty diverse... for example, I listen to everything from New Age to Metallica... not so fond of country, though. I enjoy listening to New Age when I'm creating, or working on long projects because it helps me to relax and focus. I found a station, www.mysticradio.comthat plays it all the time... If anyone here's into goth metal, I have a great link for you...

I'm surprised there aren't a lot of replies already on this thread... I love Oldies and Carolina Beach Music... my favorite artists include Johnny Cash Elvis Bobby Darin Barry Manilow Meat Loaf Girl, since you like New Age music, you might enjoy this CD: www.interlog.com/~ltsongs/jpassion/spiritlake.html

Thanks for the link, xpt! It is really nice! Elvis rocks... And I have the utmost respect for anyone that can actually admit they like Barry Manilow... (most people I know are closet fans ;D) ---------------- That's quite a list you got there, eyesbleed... Check this out, this is a local group from here in Montreal on their way up... they just released their second CD. I've been to a couple of their concerts, they do put on a great show... www.howlingsyn.netLet me know what you think.

I write and produce Hip Hop. Not the commercial, mindless, mass manufactured kind, but underground or indie hip hop, which is often labeled as "conscious". Whew. Anyway, I'd wondered a few times if i was the only "head" in here. The Beatles have been an amazing influence on my production. I've never heard such a display of "pushing the limits". Breaking of "rules". Amazingly innovative unabashed exploration. I like it.

I'm just curious if ya liked that or not. I thought it was pretty cool, for about a week. The only hip-hop/rap stuff I ever really enjoyed was Public Enemy. I've just never heard anything else that hooked me like they did. Other than that....The Beastie Boys & Consolidated, that's about it for me.

Let me know what you think. Ya... that took a little while. After bein' reminded in another thread, I went & downloaded the 2 songs. I like them better than the one I streamed a couple of days ago.... walk the walk I think. Anyway, yea... this is better than most goth/rock stuff I've heard. I'm likin'em more each time I play'em, so that's always good. Nice breaks & changes. A lot of goth & metal bands tend to fall into the sound-alike rut.... just like pop music. The metal singers try to see who can sound more satanic. And the goth will add a bit of opera or durge to the satanic vocals. I have a thing about artists not sounding like ANY other artist.... but too much originality will certainly hurt sales! The metal band wants to sell cd's... so... sound kinda like the other metal band that's sellin' so many cd's. Well.... so... anyway, that's not one of my favorite genres of music, but they're pretty good. They seem to have a few things goin' for'em that'll help them stand out from the crowd.. a little anyway. I bet the live shows are good. My daughter would probably like these guys quite a bit. I'll have to play those 2 songs for her later. Thanks ;D

Thanks for the review, EB! I think the other 2 songs you're referring to are from their debut album, Forebearers of Dusk. Also good, but I find Devilries much better. If you could hear the rest of the album, I'm sure you'd like it. Walk The Walk is a good song, but not my first choice, especially for promoting the album. You can read a full review here: www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002IQ9PK/qid%3D1101044282/701-5478113-5866732

So if the newer stuff is a little better, that probably is a pretty good album. I'm still not likin' Walk the Walk, but yer probably correct in that it's was a bad choice to represent the new cd.

my pleasure, really glad you enjoyed them. I made the tracks available for download, but you might have to be a soundclick member, kinda new to it. but yeah feel free to look around. www.soundclick.com/ionmykeWell that was kinda creepy... especially since I just finished watching an Alex Jones dvd on the same subject matter! When mp3.com shut down I went with Museeks.com. I'll have to poke around & see what soundclick is like & how they compare. One thing I don't like about Museeks is that I don't have any page stats.... at least not at the level I'm at, so I don't know if anybody's payin' any attention or not. I actually made it into the Top 10 in the "Left-Field" catagory for a little while at MP3.com...... that was cool. ( it was a very weird track that was definately out of left-field!) I'll also be streamin' more of yer stuff soon.

well, i wasnt the one to yank it ...thanks for checking it out anyway and glad you enjoyed it. Oh ya... right.(duhhh) I suppose that was a little naughty, wasn't it. That's a good rule & I'm glad we have that rule here, even tho that means I can't use lots of comparisons to this "nothing is real" If politics was allowed in here, it'd probably end in a brawl...... & I be right in the middle of it. Ya... it wouldn't be pretty... I'm glad we have that rule!

Really? I like Jet also. "Look What You've Done" sounds like something the Beatles would do. Especially that modulation.

;D when I saw Faul in the early 90's, the girl who went with me wanted him to do JET but that was the only word of the song she knew...so for two hours I kept hearing " nah-nah-nah-nah JET!!" She was a real dingaling...co-worker...she was going through some sort of boyfriend drama...I felt sorry for her and let her have (read: free) one of my tickets, and took her to the show with me...four hour round-trip, plus the actual concert...by the time it was over, I felt sorry for me
