SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger apologized Friday for saying during a closed-door meeting that Cubans and Puerto Ricans are naturally feisty and temperamental because of their combination of "black blood" and "Latino blood."

He said the tape-recorded comments "made me cringe" when he read them in Friday's Los Angeles Times.

"Anyone out there that feels offended by those comments, I just want to say I'm sorry, I apologize," Schwarzenegger said. He added that if he heard his children make similar comments, "I would be upset."...

"I mean Cuban, Puerto-Rican, they are all very hot," the governor says on the recording. "They have the, you know, part of the black blood in them and part of the Latino blood in them that together makes it."

You just kind of have to imagine him delivering the line in the trademark Ahhh-nuld accent, 'specially the "you know" part

But hey, at least he didn't say "macaca"

Severla days ago one NYC paper actually had a SchWARzenegger-glorifying front page photo of Arnoldolf with the short, pudgy billionaire NYC Mayor Bloomberg, a Republican also, smiling idiotically with the headline "TWINS".

So creepy and frightening on a number of different levels.

Looks like Arnoldolf's racist "blood" comments hav already been thrown completely down the memory hole, never to be mentioned by our controlled media again.

Update: Schwarzenegger was re-elected (although the computer vote fraud is so extensive we can't be 100% sure); his racist "black blood" remark has been totally and permanently forgotten and thrown down into the memory hole of the controlled-media, as has the fact that he was best friends with, and a houseguest of, Austrian Nazi war criminal Kurt Waldheim.

A slight Waldheim problem

Here's a question Jay Leno forgot to ask Arnold Schwarzenegger when he announced his candidacy for governor of California on last night's Tonight Show: "Will you renounce your support for Kurt Waldheim?"

A little refresher course may be in order. Kurt Waldheim, a widely esteemed former secretary general of the United Nations, was running for president of Austria in March 1986 when it came to light that he had participated in Nazi atrocities during World War II. Waldheim had always maintained that he had served in the Wehrmacht only briefly and that after being wounded early in the war, he had returned to Vienna to attend law school. In fact, Waldheim had resumed military service after recuperating from his injury and had been an intelligence officer in Germany's Army Group E when it committed mass murder in the Kozara region of western Bosnia. (Waldheim's name appears on the Wehrmacht's "honor list" of those responsible for the atrocity.)

In 1944, Waldheim had reviewed and approved a packet of anti-Semitic propaganda leaflets to be dropped behind Russian lines, one of which ended, "enough of the Jewish war, kill the Jews, come over."

After the war, Waldheim was wanted for war crimes by the War Crimes Commission of the United Nations, the very organization he would later head. None of these revelations prevented Waldheim from winning the Austrian election, but after he became president, the U.S. Justice Department put Waldheim on its watch list denying entry to "any foreign national who assisted or otherwise participated in activities amounting to persecution during World War II."

The international community largely shunned Waldheim, and he didn't run for re-election. (This information comes from the1992 book Betrayal: The Untold Story of the Kurt Waldheim Investigation and Cover-Up, by Eli M. Rosenbaum and William Hoffer.)

One month after these revelations began to splash across the front pages of newspapers worldwide, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver held their wedding reception* at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport, Mass. Schwarzenegger, a native of Austria, had invited Waldheim to the wedding, which of course can't be held against him because the invitations surely went out well before the war crimes story broke. (Schwarzenegger, who held dual citizenship in Austria and the United States, had also endorsed Waldheim.)

Waldheim didn't attend, but he sent a gift~{!*~}a statue of Arnold, in lederhosen, bearing off Maria, who wore a dirndl. Admiring it, Schwarzenegger offered a tribute that stunned the assemblage into shocked silence (this is reported in Arnold: An Unauthorized Biography, by Wendy Leigh):

Blair meets Arnie on last day as PM

Tony Blair will hold talks with Terminator star-turned California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on his last full day as Prime Minister.

The final official bilateral of his premiership will allow Mr Blair to discuss climate change again with the former Hollywood star, picking up from Mr Blair's visit to Los Angeles last year.

The talks, at Number 10, come as the Prime Minister prepares to quit Downing Street and hand over the reins of power to Gordon Brown, the new Labour leader.

Environment Secretary David Miliband will join in the discussions, which will be followed by a round-table meeting of business leaders.


Asked if the meeting would be Mr Blair's last bilateral talks at No 10, his official spokesman said: "I suppose that will be the case."

Mr Brown will take the helm amid Tory demands for a snap general election and a referendum on the EU treaty agreed by Mr Blair in Brussels at the weekend.

Tory leader David Cameron is challenging Mr Brown to call an immediate election, insisting Mr Brown has no mandate to become prime minister because Mr Blair told voters he would serve a full third term prior to the 2005 contest.

The next Prime Minister's election plans were unclear after his appointment of an election co-ordinator at the weekend created headlines predicting a 2008 poll - but there were subsequent reports that it may not take place until 2009, after all.

Ministers are also on tenterhooks for the arrival of the Brown regime, with a large-scale reshuffle expected to shift most out of their present roles and usher key allies into the Cabinet.

The only appointment announced so far has been Harriet Harman, Labour's new deputy leader, as party chairman. She ran into a storm on her first full day in the job when she was accused of backtracking on demands for the Government to apologise for the Iraq War.
