Does the "Fair Use Notice" mean that I can link to copyrighted material such as songs or even full-length albums? In my particular case it would be old songs that are perhaps hard to obtain by non-digital means, and it would only be to demonstrate a point....definitely not to make a profit!

After reading this entry in Wikipedia it seems more far more confusing than the one paragraph post states it in this section. If you link to someone else's material, if anyone is going to complain, it would be against the one hosting the material, not the one (or possibly many) linking to it. I think what has happened is that so many are uploading so much material that it has become almost hopeless for the copyright holders to track everyone down. There are the fat targets like the Torrent sites and Youtube of course, that keeps everyone busy for the time being. I must confess, I'm puzzled by the Youtube situation. For example, on the official McCartney board, the mods allow a thread about videos available at YT, even pointing posters to it, and yet most are clearly copyright violations.. Dunno, seems to be a game of just doing it, and hoping you don't get caught, as the chances seem slim.
