That must be a banner ad? I have ad block running with Firefox, so I miss those.

Ohh, I don't see banners. I think I have them blocked with Firefox or something. Where does it link to?

Spyware Blaster does a good job blocking most malware and some ads. It's free and works with IE and Firefox. It uses the browser's built in security features so it doesn't need to run in the background. www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

They are hoping to build the world's largest cross outside the city of Nazareth, and inside it, put a 5,000 square foot church 15 stories high at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal members. Send money. -j

A super-huge church being built outside of Nazareth? The world's largest cross? This is either the coolest thing to happen this century (so far), or a sign of the end times.

Without meaning the least offense - I have always wondered why Christianity uses as its symbol the cross, upon which tens of thousands of vulgar humans died, instead of the empty tomb, out of which only One ever rose. -j

That's a very interesting concept, Jarv. I never would've thought of that myself.

Especially since the very shape of the cross was allegedly fashioned as such in honor of Tammuz, an ancient Sumerian/Babylonian deity. A symbol of death, and worship of a false deity. I agree that the empty tomb should be used instead.

The symbolic connection to the cross comes from the pagans...which comes from Rome's influence on the church. I've studied the history of pagan practices that take place in "Christianity" and there's more worship of relics, statues and other icons that supposedly link people to what they believe in.
As a Christian, I don't connect to a cross or a tomb for my faith, but the One who died on it. I also find the merchandising of Christ offensive.
Don't know why there is a fascination with the cross itself. Had Jesus been beheaded, would they wear a guillotine around their necks and bumper stickers? Or by a noose, would they have noose jewelry? It's not what is outwardly that makes a person spiritual or Godly, but what's in the heart. Gold and silver trinkets can be worn by a dummy, doesn't mean it makes it a saint.
They are building a "spruce goose" of epic religious proportions, they need your ca$h.... It sounds like the Tower of Babel for modern day "saints".
I use that term loosely if they think these displays shows the depth of their beliefs.

He not only turned over all the tables, but he struck the staff of "holy salesmen" with a bullwhip! (This in part made him VERY unpopular.....)

#Good-Post[1]# Thanks Jude for bringing it to our attention... it IS significant, but not for the reasons they think... And LovelyRita, Jarv, I am with you 100%. The truth about the intended Christian church begins in the Book of Acts, which is what the Apostles followed from the moment that Jesus left Earth, NOT the teachings introduced (and done away with!) by Constantine at the Council of Nicea only 325 years later! But... old habits are hard to break... and this is why most ppl will not hear, because it's all they've ever known... for nearly 2000 years... Well, so much for the no-religion discussion policy... lol... but I had to respond...
