WOW! That's gonna be tough... I don't think there's a pre-67 song I didn't like... hmmmm.... Pre-67 And I Love Her Devil In Her Heart Do You Want To Know A Secret If I Fell She Loves You Twist & Shout Whew... I think that's about right... Songs like "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me" "Hard Day's Night", "Eight Days A Week" I like but am just plain sick of, cuz of overkill on the radio... Post-67 Back In The USSR Don't Let Me Down Hey Jude Let It Be Revolution That was somewhat easier... well, sort of. ;D Edit: LOL I just noticed I had chosen 6 songs pre-67, not 5. I can't bring myself to delete one of them, so it'll just have to stay like that. Sorry, RL. [img src="http://galeon.hispavista.com/akostuff/img/Dunno2[1].gif"] Edit 2: But if I HAD to delete one, it would be between And I Love Her & Do You Want To Know A Secret... the others are written in stone...

In My Life Another Girl (fun on a Bahama Beach) For No One Post '66: A Day In The Life (As Big GM says, it send shivers..) The Fool On The Hill Something Let It Be (one of Bill's best) Across The Universe Thanks to: www.beatles-discography.com/ for a track listing.

1962-1966 All My Loving Please Please Me Drive My Car Got To Get You Into My Life 8 Days A Week ...and many more 1967-1970 A Day in The Life Ob La Di, Ob La Da(especially acoustic version on Anthology) While My Guitar Gently Weeps Something Here Comes the Sun(you can see I like Harrison's contributions ) P.S. It's interesting that the period in which "Paul" was with the band making hits was 1962-66, the 'red' album, signifying blood and the period in which Paul played in the Beatles. The 1967-1970 album (for PIDers) was when Paul was out of the band and it was colored blue because everyone was blue over his absence. (sorry I just had to bring that up here ;D)

I could pick another equally good 5 or 10 in each category. I'm more of a Lennon fan than Paul or Faul.

(sorry I just had to bring that up here ;D) I thought it had more to do with the whole red pill, blue pill thing.... "...gives him a choice between taking a blue pill, which would cause him to wake up as if the experience were a dream, and taking a red pill, which would allow Morpheus to show him the truth of life and the world." (from somebody's paper on The Matrix) And isn't there something about that in Alice in Wonderland also? Red pill for reality blue pill for illusion

It could be either/or.

Paperback Writer They really cranked up the Rickenbacker for that one. Only the Beatles would use the Bass as lead. Apart from the Riffs from Lennon at the beginning and middle. For years I thought they were saying 'Amanda Lear' instead of 'A man named Lear' . Well it may be a play on words because they did know (friend of Salvador Dali) Amanda Lear and there were several rumours that Amanda Lear was a transsexual. Which she seemed to deny and yet not deny. "Dear Sir or Madam would you read my book............" It's not about Love and neither was the other side Rain. A first I think......

I can never hear 'Lovely Rita' without welling up with joyful tears at that descending vocal harmony between John and Paul into the Paul-exclaimed 'Rita!' and piano solo. It is the work of angels! Absolutely divine. Now, if 'Bill' came into the band and a couple of months later came up with that, he's not Satan but GOD ALMIGHTY

Naturally he used the Rickenbacker bass, as there was no other option for this song. www.beatlesbible.com/songs/paperback-writer/2/"Paperback Writer is most notable for its heavy bass line, played by Paul McCartney on a Rickenbacker in place of his usual Hofner."

I love all their early stuff. Have "Live At The BBC" and "On Air-Live at the BBC Volume 2. A lot of the music is music that was popular in their early years and I have never heard it, but considering there is probably a 6yr age difference between me and them, I would have never heard those songs, but, I like them.
