LINKThe guy playing Paul is named "Paul Ramone". If that isn't a stage name, (which it must be of course) then that's sure a coincidence. Anyway, anyone looking for what would probably be a fun show, and you live nearby, there ya go! Frankly, Faux Four fab
If you're a Beatles fan (and who isn't?), you'll want to get to Harrah's Atlantic City by April 23 to see "Beatlemania Now," a terrific tribute to John, Paul, George and Ringo.
The four musicians who perform as The Beatles are truly wizards, using nothing but guitars, drums and a keyboard, to virtually clone a CD's worth of songs, from early hits like "She Loves You" and "All My Loving" to such later-period signatures as "A Day In the Life,""I Am the Walrus" and "Penny Lane."
The latter is just one of the songs on which John Perry (as George Harrison) uses digital keyboard technology to recreate an astounding array of instrumental sounds, including the piccolo trumpet heard on the original recording. He also impresses with his string parts on "Yesterday."
Perry, Scott Arch (John Lennon), Paul Ramone (Paul McCartney) and Eric Smith (Ringo Starr) bear passing resemblances to their subjects as young men, but get closer to hitting the visual mark as the show progresses. And the fact that Ramone is actually left-handed (as is McCartney) is a bonus.
Show times are 9 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Admission is $25. For tickets and info, call (800) 242-7724, or go to www.harrahs.com.
