The main difference I hear is the Buggs chose to emphasize the harmony over the melody. It's hard to tell if they're the same singer or not, but the Buggs version is sung better IMO.

Duke D'Mond (circa 1963), of the Barron Knights. The Barron Knights were/are a "comedy-rock" group that opened for the Beatles in the UK in the Beatlemania days.

That's nice, Doc... but the point is he kinda looks like the big "Mal Evans" type guy standing to the right in the "Pepperpots" picture.. this being the Pepperpots thread and all...
