I posted about this elswhere (sorry, Spanky!) Hope I can keep this on, it's interesting.
In the PID book "Carry that Weight," (Ernst Schulze), the author says in the last chapter that KOIL (Omaha, Neb,) in 66 announced the BBC said Paul died in a car crash! "There was never a correction or a follow up to this and the silence was deafening."
Does this ring a bell with anyone? Can one of you write someone at KOIL? I did myself and didn't hear back.

Hi Jerri, it is highly unlikely that anyone at the station now would know if the announcement was actually made, or if it's just "an urban legend". The radio business has been in such upheaval over the last decade, that KOIL could have been through many ownership changes, and literally thousands of employees since then. (I have not researched KOIL's ownsership history, however, I am just speaking in generalities.)
The only hope for "proof" of the announcement would be an actual recording of the broadcast.

I'm sorry. I just know that Spanky doesn't like people posting stuff here which they posted elsewhere, so I was trying to be considerate.
I had mentioned this before on other lists, and found it interesting enough to post here. No one seems to know of the broadcast.

I'm sorry. I just know that Spanky doesn't like people posting stuff here which they posted elsewhere, so I was trying to be considerate. it just gets confusing when the same info is posted on different threads, that's all.
