This was broadcast in the US in 1973, mostly a collection of Wings promo videos with occasional live material. Also, there is a section in the middle where Bill "revisits" a pub in Liverpool, complete with a visit from Paul's father. Very strange, he appears to know everyone there, like "hey how are ya Auntie Gin", like that. However, I think Linda could have made more of an effort, she doesn't say a word to or acknowledge the father in any way, and she and Bill make a hasty exit to the other side of the room in very short time. Just a little too weird, even for him? You gotta see this, so.. www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Bill_Liverpool_Pub_1973.wmvAt the beginning, it's interesting that they show each member of the band with a few details flashed on the screen like height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc. Linda takes the lady's perogative and gives flip answers about age and weight, but what's funny is Bill won't commit to hair and eye color.. Why not, a few more Bills, there is maybe a little somethin' goin' on with that chin and a scar? And singing in the pub..

Yeah RRD, I know you are a mac person, I make WM files because they are compatible with more people, and it is possible to run them on a mac. Also, they do look nice for less bandwidth usage. Anyway, what you gotta do is "option-click", so as to save them to your hard drive. Once they are there, open them from within the latest version of Windows Media Player, it won't work automatically, sorry about that.

Jo Jo,
I don't always post, but am always a reader and keep abreast with the great investigative work and research being put into this project by all the good people here involved.
Your work in uncovering the different video and audio is invaluable to this effort.
These shots of a very obviously NOT PAUL actually brought a bit of sadness to me. Just look at the lost look in Faul's green eyes.
How in the heck could he have done this? What the heck is going on in this guy's mind? What does he see when he looks in the mirror.
These shots from the 1973 TV Special are particularly alarming. They are disturbing.
Once again, everyone keep up the great work. A lot of people are starting to become wise to this truth. Bye for now.

I do try to keep Mac users in mind as I use a Mac myself, just want to make sure the material is available to as close to 100% as possible.

Thanks Madtitan, it was with the strangeness of these stills in mind that I posted them, and yes, the green eyes.

JoJo, you must have screen capture software... What is it you have?
The video is a great find. The interaction between Bill and the McCartneys does seem stilted--he knows he's on camera too. For one thing, when Bill greets Jim McCartney in a rather contrived way, then Jim instead of answering directly to Bill, he acknowledges Heather (must be the daughter, though she is out of the picture, either that or he mistakenly said "Heather" when he meant "Linda"). I'm not sure what the whispering between Bill and Jim was about. Angie or Ruth appear to be absent, I'd expect them to be there with Jim, but I guess they were busy doing other things that day. BTW, I think "Joe" is Joe DiMaggio.

I use PowerDVD, plays videos of course, but also lets you go frame by frame and make a BMP of each one. Its web site escapes me at the moment, but of course there's Google.

Watching Faul sing "Maybe I'm Amazed" towards the end was freaky. You get to see him sing from that side view and he looks SO different from the real Paul....from his nose to the shape of his face. It reminds me of that fade Sun King has on site where it's the profile of Paul and then of Faul singing Hey Jude but this shot from the special is even more emphatic.

First, thanks to Total Info for the heads up about this magazine out now, a collection of material from 1970-1980: nmeoriginals.com/archive.php?show=1118703600I found it today collecting dust on the bottom shelf at a little magazine rack, lucky, because I had forgotten about it. I think there's some good material here, and I'll try to cull the stuff that gets caught in my "PID filter". There is a reprint of an interview with John from Melody Maker, Nov 3, 1973, and get what he says here: I liked parts of his TV special, especially the intro. The part filmed in Liverpool made me squirm a bit, but Paul's a pro. He always has been. Why would watching Paul hang out with his family and friends in a Liverpool pub make John "squirm"??

As usual with John's comments, they can be taken more than one way. But it sounds like he was uncomfortable watching Bill fake his way through the Liverpool pub visit.

Jo I think that in the clearest photos that you posted here, Bill's eyes look light blue/gray.

I've seen that video (or part of it) on YouTube and was struck by how aloof the family members are from Bill/Faul. They give him a polite but cool reception. If you're the real Paul McCartney and you go home to have some pints with the family, they're going to swarm all over you, doting, solicitous, proud and pleased as punch to have you there. But the family acts as though they're glad to have some distance from him and glad to get this social occasion over with.
