yes I am shocked to see Horselover on here Horselover Fat is a character in my favourite book ever Valis by Philip K Dick, that's where I took my username from. PKD had some very weird experiences in the early/mid 70s where he was contacted by an alien satellite which helped him put his life back in order named Vast Active Living Intelligence System. In the novel VALIS PKD split himself up in PKD the writer and Horselover Fat his loony friend who supposedly went thru all these alienexperiences. It is however clear thru his philosphical essays that those experiences happened to himself in real life. I also had my fair share of VALISlike experiences, and it turned out that it was very lucky to take that username on these forums. For years I was researching lots but never much writing and putting my ideas out online. When I signed up to the forum in late 2004 I quickly got a mail from JoJo asking if I was using VALIS in reference to that book. We got talking and soon JoJo became a great friend, encouraging me a lot to put my ideas out. So I'll have to thank him when I get my academy award ;D That all might not have happened had I not used the VALIS cypher as username. And now to see Horselover joined us, it feels like I'm just being handed a can of UBIK. Welcome Horselover All Love Jan en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VALIS

never noticed this intro thing at all....sorry guys. Thanks for the warm welcome. First off.... I'm not really a 'Beatles' fan per se, I'm in my late 30's and so as a youngster the beatles phenomena had passed me by in that respect...I was (and still are) more of a 'Floyd' fan. My username (as Valis no doubt knows)...is a version of Philip K Dick's own name...philip (greek for horeslover) and Fat (germanic version of Dick)i love his work and writing (i like sci-fi too)....so the 'phat' was my own twist. I'm more of what you might term an 'occult' researcher from secret societies of the ancients to masonry and up through to OTO/Crowley/Hubbard and various other cognate groups....that is my area of research....but what many would consider the conspiratorial side, as opposed to being an actual adept and no I'm not a 'God' botherer either! I'm currently intrigued by mass media and the sub-conscious, synchronicity, predictive programming and revelation of the method. Alongside that I am a Stanley Kubrick freak too....who actually has tie-ins to the the research done here too...maybe that will be brought up later? I remember coming across the 'PID' scenario circa 2000/2001 via the internet and I was always fascinated by it and was never able to dismiss it from my psyche as being nonsense... in fact I always felt that there was something to it....from time to time i'd think that they really did replace Paul, but without me ever going back to the source materials I originally found...I could never bother to get all the materials needed to make my own comparisons and I was involved in other things...but strangely enough the BBC showed a pre-Faul movie the other week and I was compelled to watch it to see the original Paul...and again my 'psyche' wouldn't let it go (or was this meant to happen!!!)....then I've somehow come across this site and all of its superb source material and posters. The 'iamaphoney' series has piqued my interest too (particulalrly in reference to crowley) and I've ended up here. In fact when I first came across PID as I said back 2000/2001 there wasn't that much on the web....since then it seems to have mushroomed somewhat....which I have to admit I was surprised by. I know they (the powers that be) had Lennon killed... and that MDC was a programmed multiple sent to do the mission...I have also heavily suspected that 'the powers that be' also tried to do the same to George with the knife attack several years back (with the 'typical 'occult cues), but for unknown reasons....but hey those are just my own opinions....too twilight zone for some folk, but theres the rub. Generally I'm an 'odd-ball' type of person....at least, I think so....and I'm very frank and blunt...so try not to be offended. I just like folk who will run with anything...no matter how crazy it may or may not be...i love that kind of mental freedom. Well that is me introduced.....so take care everybody and see you all... around.

oh boy, you're opening a big can of worms here ;D
I'm an oddball too but we are gradually taking over, I heard a saying: "When the going gets weird the weird get professional"
I'm a big Kubrick and Floyd fan too. You are probably aware that the last part of the movie 2001 synchs up perfectly with the Floyd's ECHOES.
I found it gets weirder, that last part (Saturn and beyond the Infinite) synchs with all classic albums.
I tried it with a.o. Floyd, Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, U2 and it all works. Unpause the CD at the moment the sign comes up that says (Jupiter ha and beyond the infinite). Since that chapter is only 23 minutes you don't get the whole albums so when the movie stops play the last chapter again and start with the song that was interrupted.
I notice this doesn't work with albums that aren't that great, compilations or live recordings.
The strange thing is that when you screen the whole discography of a band, using the 2001 synch, that with every new record the visuals take on another layer of meaning.
To me it's another pointer that a higher power is communicating to us thru great works of art.
Like Neil Young once said: "It's all the same song"
All Love Jan

Oh Valis...that has torn it!!!! lol Yes....I was gonna post the 'Jay Weidner' alchemical kubrick post myself....it is a great piece...it tied into my 2001 research that I was doing funnily enough during 2001....although I think I read Weidners piece maybe 4-5 years back!!! Yes....the echoes synch..... you're right, I particularly liked the bit near the end when we travel through the monolith from the bed, i've been down that path too....this is uncanny!!!! Then there is Darkside of the Rainbow tying in to OZ....and DSOTM...etc etc etc. I discovered a synch myself (no idea why i did it either)when I was about 16/17 years old....Metallica's Orion overlaid on the 'stargate' scene (it wasn't bad, it worked)...i used 2 videos and a tape recorder and even gave it to the band when they played @ hammersmith late 80's...we managed to sneak into the odeon in the afternoon and hooked up with the new bass player...and the others lol!!!! I wonder what they thought...it was VHS so maybe they didn't watch it....great days for a young lad!!! That was my first exposure to synch!....and I did it on my own for no reason other than something to do! You then...must be aware of the backmask in Roger Waters Hitchiking (Douglas Adams anyone?)LP....which seems to be a message to Stanley Kubrick and all the other book partners!!! ? Waters and Radio Kaos.....re: BILLY, the main character in RadioKaos.....ties in to PM's Chaos and Creation....ordo ab chao 33. 33 the segments of the spinal column that lead to enlightenment...33 the speed at which LP's were played...33 the age of Christ @ crucifixion....33 the conferred masonic degree.....the 33rd parallel...1933 Hitler rises to power....i'd better stop before Choronzon (whose number is 333) takes over my head, unless he already has!!! LOL Interesting......Val, very interesting! Can of worms indeed.....

I own the Waters solo albums but haven't played them much (though more than the Gilmour Inc. CDs) so this is all quite new. Have to give them a listen again. Great you saw and met Metallica in the old days, I saw them in 92 and 93 and those were such tight amazing concerts. In 96 they were still good but the spirit was missing, and 99 was a straight disappointment. One of the greatest synchs I ever came across was The Crow movie with TOOL's Aenima. I had both the movie and the TOOL CD in their limited editions with holographic covers so that put me onto the idea to synch them both together, and it's amazing, better than the Dark Side Of The Oz All Love Jan PS got the feeling we're in The Clans Of The Alphane Moon phase now

Anywhere I can get these synchs, as I'm interested in the phenomena but never got round to seeing anything other than the first half hour of the Dark Side of Oz.
Rather than simply the higher power thing (which is certainly possible) for me I just like the possibility of seeing some of the best albums in a whole new light - putting this music that I enjoy so much into images.
