Hi everyone: As opposed to the trees or roots that were enlarged earlier, if you look above the trees into the dirt along the path, I believe the "Beatles" letters are much easier to identify: See the "E" and "A" right in the middle of the path?

Just one note: the Earth is really slowing down Well the REAL Day The Earth stood still was the birth of Christ as was written in an Apocryphal text (a book not cannonized by the church) known as The Protevangelion. In this book of The Apocrypha we get the story of how the birth of Christ stopped the planet in it's tracks. It occured when Joseph, husband of Mary, left her side to get help because she had gone into labor. Joseph knows he can't reach help in time, but he tries anyway. And while he's in the process of trying, the Earth STOPS ... apparently to give him the time he needs.13:2 But as I was going," said Joseph, I looked up into the air, and I saw the clouds astonished, and the fowls of the air stopping in the midst of their flight. 3 And I looked down towards the earth, and saw a table spread, and working people sitting around it, but their hands were upon the table, and they did not move to eat. 4 They who had meat in their mouths did not eat. 5 They who lifted their hands up to their heads did not draw them back, 6 and they who lifted them up to their mouths did not put anything in, 7 but all their faces were fixed upwards. 8 And I beheld the sheep dispersed, and yet the sheep stood still. 9 And the shepherd lifted up his hand to smite them, and his hand continued up. 10 And I looked to a river, and saw the kids with their mouths close to the water, and touching it, but they did not drink."

It's just another day--a routine day and remember the sun rises in the east... Possibly some of the same characters (some wearing disguises?).There's a bridge (similar to the Brooklyn bridge) and a dried up river. And the clouds make a bridge and the clouds look like a river. Another water scene with a ship sailing through the clouds, and a rainbow like a bridge. A ship docked on a dry plain ready to sail the heavens, and another rainbow like a bridge. The sun rises in the east--here comes the sun king! (The boat in the photo is on the East River.) Is all of this just really cool art work or is there more to it? Is it all just a coincidence or is there a connection?

That "Light Years Later" album cover reminds me of a description given by an ancient Greek traveler who visited Egypt long ago. I was reading it in an old volume about old accounts of what people saw in Egypt before most of it was gone. Since I saw this cover I've tried to recover the quote, but I can't remember exactly where I saw it now. I think it was in a book on the Gugenheim site, but no luck yet.
Anyway, the description was of ruins that were still left of a particular temple. He described a "trilithon" that was left partially standing just at the edge of the water. I'll keep looking.

Reading all this for the first time, I'd like to share a couple of impressions that stood out to me right away. I found the cover of Routine Day faintly reminiscent of the cover of Hey Jude. Sub Rosa Subway... any possible reference to Red Rose Speedway/Submarine? And the group clearly "following the sun" down the road. Interesting artwork and song title on the Sunset collection... 1. Hanus Of Uranus 2. Sub Rosa Subway 3. Cherie 4. For You Girl 5. Around The Universe In 80 Days 6. Epilogue 7. A Routine Day 8. Juicy Luicy 9. Everybody Took A Holiday 10. Older 11. Dear Christine 12. Mister Manson 13. Tokeymor Field 14. Sir Rupert Said... 15. Sell Out, Sell Out 16. Howl At The Moon 17. I Can't Help It 18. Paranoia 19. Set The World On Fire 20. Dog Star 21. All Good Things 22. There's Something Happening 23. I Don't Wanna Go Home 24. At The End Of The Rainbow 25. December Dream 26. Mrs. Toad's Cookies 27. Magentalane 28. Ambrose Lightship Fascinating. Lots of intriguing similarities.

Wow, Jo...
Re: Magentalane (from Wiki:)
Magentalane was the fifth and final album of new material by the Canadian progressive rock group Klaatu. (This was also their last album cover painted by Ted Jones.) After the un-Klaatuness of the previous album, Magentalane marked a "return to roots"; in other words, back to the style of their first album, 3:47 EST.
The album was not released in the U.S. since Capitol Records had dropped the band following the failure of Endangered Species. Although the band signed with Canada's division of Capitol, it was only released in Canada as a result (though it was also released eventually in Mexico).
The album never saw the light of day in the U.S. until 1995, when Permanent Press Records released it on CD. In 2007, it was rereleased by Bullseye Records.
The album contained a grim message in the very end; the mouse squeak from Klaatu's first album was present here, followed by the sound of a springing mousetrap (insinuating that, according to John Woloschuk, Klaatu was now gone).
However, if one listens very closely, there is the sound of a mouse running away. Now, that could suggest that either the band/mouse survived or was mortally wounded. (This was also said by Woloschuk.)
Thankfully it seemed the "mouse" only spent some time recuperating, as Klaatu re-united for an acoustic performance in 2005 during the announcement of the Sun Set album.
Track listing
1. "A Million Miles Away" (Woloschuk) 2. "The Love of a Woman" (Woloschuk) 3. "Blue Smoke" (Woloschuk/Tome) 4. "I Don't Wanna Go Home" (Woloschuk) 5. "December Dream" (Woloschuk/Draper) 6. "Magentalane" (Woloschuk/Tome) 7. "At the End of the Rainbow" (Long) 8. "Mrs. Toad's Cookies" (Woloschuk/Tome) 9. "Maybe I'll Move to Mars" (Long) 10. "Magentalane (It Feels So Good)" (Woloschuk/Tome)
(The album ends with the sound of a mouse squeaking and a mousetrap, followed by the sound of something running away.)
Very intriguing parallels... I'd love to know more.

A bit OT, Magenta, the color that doesn't exist: www.null-hypothesis.co.uk/science/strange-but-true/colour_spectrum_magenta_complimentary_bizarre So what does the brain do when our eyes detect wavelengths from both ends of the light spectrum at once (i.e. red and violet light)? Generally speaking, it has two options for interpreting the input data:
a) Sum the input responses to produce a colour halfway between red and violet in the spectrum (which would in this case produce green – not a very representative colour of a red and violet mix) b) Invent a new colour halfway between red and violet
Magenta is the evidence that the brain takes option b – it has apparently constructed a colour to bridge the gap between red and violet, because such a colour does not exist in the light spectrum. Magenta has no wavelength attributed to it, unlike all the other spectrum colours.
The light spectrum has a colour missing because it does not feel the need to ‘close the loop’ in the way that our brains do. We need colour to make sense of the world, but equally we need to make sense of colour; even if that means taking opposite ends of the spectrum and bringing them together.

Don't think of pink elephants! ;D <---famous impossible to obey commandThis may qualify as random information, but I was looking up the references in George Harrison's Simply Shady and one line is: The elephant turned pink. According to A Dictionary of the Underworld, "turn pink" is to turn state's evidence.

Girl says that Magentalane was Klaatu's final album, but I don't think that's true. I believe they released new material in 2005 and this year in 2009 (or soon to be released). Go to their website and you'll see.
Magentalane was released in 1981 - one year late - after John Lennon's (supposed) death. All music after that album has been released only in Canada, not in the U.S.

klaatu.org/you can go to 'the music' - samples (klaatu), then 'dr marvello ' snippet. If you get a chance to listen - (with headphones are best) - wow if that doesn't sound like early John doing lead vocal! I played it to a couple people and asked them who it sounded like. Both said J Lennon - with no prompting or name dropping from me. Took about 2 seconds to respond. I don't think either even knew who klaatu (is). And the bass - listen to the bass solo about half way. It really has that JPM sound to it. There are things being done there that are like pepper bass. JPM - esque. Like little slides up the neck to reach the next note, etc. Sort of playful in spots. (yeah headphones help) Also, not just the style but the actual sound and tonality of the instrument. Amazing. If it's not JP, it's someone who seems to be a real student. Enjoyable stuff that bass line and the song itself. Here's klaatu bass that to me sounds more like JPM than a lot of bass from 'paul's' solo stuff.
