After 1969 The Beatles were gone, but another band stepped in and carried the torch. From 1969-1974, this band had more top 10 hits and moved more records and concert tickets than any other band in the world.
They had twenty-one consecutive top-40 hits during that period, eighteen consecutive top-20, and seven number one hits. By 1975 they had sold nearly 50 million records.
It's been a THREE DOG Night And I've been working like, HARD...

What does it matter? Never Been To Spain was penned by Hoyt Axton, who was born in Oklahoma. This however does nothing to make the lyrics any less "suspect," if there is in fact a massive rock conspiracy. I said if. -j

Three Dog Night's "It's For You" was actually written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and Harry Nilsson penned the song "One" "It's just no good anymore since you went away. Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday."

Yes, but it's a curious thing. I went to see the "Cast of Beatlemania" last night, and they said something I hadn't realized: When the Beatles sang Carl Perkins' song "Everybody's Tryin' To Be My Baby", one of their very early recordings, they (and these are the words of the Cof B) "called Paul 'Oklahoma'". As in: "Oklahoma had an ice cream cake." Now why would they sing something like that? Unless: a. Paul had ties to Oklahoma b. Somebody else had ties to Oklahoma. Somebody who was with the band from the git-go. (That's Oklahoma talk for "from the start". ;D) Now somewhere in the Black Hills of South Dakota there lived a young boy named Rocky Racoona... What does it matter? I've posted the Oklahoma clues a number of times.
A massive, enormous, humongous, colossal, stupendous, mind-blowing Rock Conspiracy, you say? "No way-er, Man!"

Jeremiah was a bullfrog....code language for something deeper.... Jeremiah was a prophet... Prophecy......Revelation.....written by John.... John Lennon was a prophet There is a strong parallel between Lennon and John the Beloved/Revelator from the New Testament. The name Lennon derives from the Gaelic Leannon, meaning a lover, or one beloved. "IN THE BEGINNING was the WORD..." -John 1:1 "IN THE BEGINNING I misunderstood; but now I got it, the WORD is good." -John RS:6 On a side note, the Irish name Lonán means little blackbird. -j

Chuck who? ;D So, the fans wonder: How did the two dogs doo? (Sorry. ;D) It was a fun concert, I have to say. It was a perfect summer night for an outdoor concert, and a sell-out crowd of 1800 + showed up. My associate and I had managed to get two of the last seven available "lawn seat" tickets the day before. We sat on the lawn of College Miseracordia University (aka " Misery"), and as long as nobody stood up, you could see the stage. This became something of an issue, as the band obviously wanted people to get up and dance to the music, but if anyone did, SECURITY came along and made them sit down again. In my case this turned out not to be much of a problem, as I discovered to my dismay that - having sat myself down in the same position for twenty minutes - I no longer could stand up anyway. Actually my partner and I came unprepared. We had only a pair of binoculars and two bottles of water. Around us people sat in lawn chairs, drinking beer, eating ice cream, steak and caviar. I was not aware that people could bring such things, but then, I guess I don't get out much. The show started with "The Family of Man", and in short order "Black and White" and "Out in the Country" and others were being churned out rather nicely by the band. Even so, I found myself singing along, and as I did so, I discovered that my voice was often the missing one that Chuck Negron would have provided. After runnning through a long string of favorites, the band allowed as they were doing a new album, which they figured would be ready "in about 2040". They did a song called "Harlem Blues" from it, and it was classic Three Dog Night. It would be a hit if the album ever comes out. They pointed out that they really hadn't done much of "the Blues", even though they had been on the Pop charts, the Rock charts, the Country charts, the Soul charts, and lately, the Medical charts! from the concert handout:"Originally brought together in 1968 by Danny Hutton and Cory Wells, the group was enormously sccessful from the start. Hutton, who had graduated from loading and unloading records at the Disney strudio to recording as a solo artist, met Cory Wells while he was touring with Sonny and Cher. The now-famous name came from a story about Australian aborigines who, on cold nights in the outback, sleep with their dogs for warmth. The coldest evenings are known as "three dog nights".It was a fun concert, but there were some irritating flaws. The audience was subjected to a blinding array of spot lights every time the "Liar Liar" chorus was sung. And how could Two Dog Night give a concert without doing "Eli's Coming"? They didn't do "The Show Must Go On" either. When they exited the stage without having done "Jeremiah Was A Bull Frog", you just knew they were faking it, so the audience "demand" for an encore was somewhat half-hearted, but at least for that, the last song (and you knew it would be before the concert even began), the audience actually got up and danced and sang along. If the group comes your way, yes, go and see it. But just for a good time. (I know; it's easy to be hard.)

The Disney connection is interesting. Much has been written about the Masonic aspects of that operation. I am inclined to think that the "3 Dog Night" explanation about Aborigines in the outback is a cover story. "It's been a hard days night, and I've been working like a dog".At the time those lyrics were written, there were 4 "dogs" working through the dark 'night' preceding the day (era) that is about to dawn, but with the departure of Paul from The Beatles, only 3 "dogs" were left to carry on in that group. I see the name as an obtuse reference to that situation. Bowie portrays himself as a "Diamond Dog", perhaps hinting at who might have been helping out the Beatle effort in secret. It's on Amerika's tortured brow That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cowNow the workers have struck for fame 'Cause Lennon's on sale again (Perhaps: needing a co-writer he's willing to pay)

Now she walks through her sunken dream To the seat with the clearest view
But the film is a saddening bore 'Cause I wrote it ten times or more It's about to be writ again As I ask you to focus on....
