Ringo put out an album in 1976 called "Rotogravure" and on the back cover there was a a picture of a graffiti covered entrance to Abbey Road Studios. Supposedly the original vinyl came with a magnifying glass to help you read the writing. Well, they didn't have scanners in those days.. Found this in a local used record store, almost gave up, but they had this filed under the "R's" instead of the "S's". Sheesh! Pretty fair shape, although it has a cutout punch and a little masking tape in the lower left hand corner. Apollo C. Vermouth once mysteriously said "find one clue, it's all you need." I don't know of course, but it should be a fun easter egg hunt. A small version below, and a link to a very large full size 300DPI jpeg. I also made an inverted (like a negative) version, makes some of the darker writing easier to see. (again be warned, about 2MB each) Have fun! www.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Rotogravure/Rotogravurebig2.jpgwww.jojoplace.org/Shoebox/Rotogravure/RotogravureBigInverted.jpg

Well now you've done it. I'll be searching that thing for the rest of my days.
Really, I'm not sure what we're supposed to be looking for on there, and it almost seems like a wild goose chase (then again, what about this whole PID hobby isn't?). I guess we could just post interesting things we find that may or may not have any relevance.
I notice that on the upper left panel, under the COME TOGETHER, it says "Get Back Pat Holbein Canada." Not sure if the "Pat" was a part of it or just overlapping graffiti, so it might read "Get Back Holbein Canada."

Maybe Klaus (Voorman) paid a visit: But perhaps this might be a "hidden in plain site" clue: Look at it, an arrow pointing from the left, and..underlined three times for emphasis. "FROM THE c (?) POOL" It says "pay attention", and it is somehow out of place in comparison to the fan messages, names, etc.

"FROM THE 'POOL"
An abbreviation of Liverpool "I'm from the 'pool" or in football (soccer) terms "Go on the 'pool!"

On the left hand side, under the names of songs, there seems to be some Japanese characters, does anyone know Japanese?
"Love to All Sonya Finland"...
"Give Jenn A Green Card, Ok"
These are things I picked up along the left hand side.
On other places I noticed a couple of references to Argentina.
Don't have any idea of what this may mean, but just some things I've noticed.

Perhaps this is apropos of nothing, but Sylvie Vartan was very big in Japan.

Finding clues on that thing can be a bit maddening. Most of those are akin to writing "Bob heart Betty" on a tree... fans leaving behind graffiti.
Not to say that there isn't anything there, but without context I don't see anyway of figuring it out as a legitimate clue.

One name that appears is cheryl gray.
I've discovered that a chery gray had a song in the 60's called "YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE"

Maybe she signed the wall after she recorded that song/album at Abbey Road.

From a press conference in Amsterdam, 1976:
Question: There is a photo of the front door of Apple on the back of the cover, where did you get it?
Ringo: Neil Aspinall took it and sent us one each an I thought, "I'm gonna put it on the back of the album." It's a front door, but it's a back door too. It's got all these names scrawled on it from Finland. That's why you're getting a magnifying glass with the album, so you can read it all. And I thought it would be a nice bit of fun, especially for those who actually wrote on it. It used to be so smart, with a doorman and a pretty letterbox, and now it's just...yeah!
I wonder if there's something being telegraphed with the "names from Finland" remark?
One more thing, his "It's a back door too" remark.. From a Wiki entry:
A backdoor in a computer system (or cryptosystem or algorithm) is a method of bypassing normal authentication or securing remote access to a computer, while attempting to remain hidden from casual inspection.
In other words, a way of gaining access (to a computer's secrets) while remaining undetected, and not using the normal means of access.

The Finland reference is sexual too. Fin means "end" in both Spanish and French, another allusion to the back door. At least, you can interpret it that way if you want to. -j

in our society perhaps the beast could be computer/internet and cars, if you think in metaphoric terms?

thanks for digging that out... 2 things immediately struck me in that picture.... 1st the 'aum' symbol....that someone mentioned...that possibly relates to our own on galaxy. and then this.... Its obviously supposed to be 'Get Back'.....but your actually see ' ET Back'.....an extra-terrestial, reference perhaps? Also noteworthy is that it is just above the letter box....too. I noticed that someone by the name of 'Cheryl Gray' is nearby too....perhaps could be construed as the 'alien' Gray/Grey...that is so pervasive throughout the UFO community.....and connected to Crowley through Lam. typical alien grey/gray. Crowley's Lam from the Amalantrah Working. Well...that is what I've seen (as possible clues/references) after a quick cursory look, anyway.

when I brought up beast, it was because of the back door computer reference (and of course our friend crowley) not because I saw the word

Interesting...thanks eye. Its 'AUM' (pronounced with an 'A' vowel sound.....as opposed to the 'Om' 'O' vowel sound)....and generally relates to Hinduism...it also relates to the concept of the 'lost chord'. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aum
