From a book called 'The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions'. Basically a "timeline" book, I'll be studying that. The caption reads: "Paul Mccartney's sketched ideas for the Abbey Road album cover, upon which (in the top right hand corner) photographer Iain MacMillan made a more detailed plan, executed almost exactly on 8 August." Some comments: The box in the lower left hand corner looks like theee number nines and the left most stick figure is different. In the box in the lower right hand corner, the stick figures have legs, with the left most one out of place again, he's walking to the left, while the other three are walking to the right. Any meaning is conjecture...

Another couple of interesting things to throw in as well, another take of the walking across the road, (all with shoes on) and the back of the Abbey Road cover without the sleeve lettering added yet.

Hmmm has anyone noticed this before? Probably, but it looks like a man's profile, looking left.

I can’t see the pics in your previous posts, JoJo, so I’ll post the pics that I took of the sketch and the whole page. (I had to shrink the file sizes a bit - sorry the photos are a little fuzzy.) I think this proves that “someone out of sync from the others” was part of the plan from the beginning... hmm...

I, of course, haven’t had time to read the whole book yet, but I checked out all of the pics (like a kid on Christmas! Unfamiliar photos? YES PLEASE!) and also found this: It sounds like 22 January 1969 was Billy Preston’s first date with The Beatles, but what are “Billy’s Songs”? From the text, it doesn’t sound, to me, like he recorded anything solo. Quite interesting! What do you guys think?

Is there any way to get a clearer or enlarged version of the photo on p.165? Specifically interested in the Paul’s right hand.

No photo, and I’m not sure where/how to track down specific audio for those (I’m too well versed in recording process specifics). 😕 I think his hand is looks funky because it’s in shadow, but it definitely looks weird! I totally didn’t see that... I was so caught up in the reel notes! Great catch! i’m going to spend more time looking through this book this weekend, and I will post anything of interest! 👐🏻

I guess I thought much of that raw material had been released... If you go into my Fireman thread, you’ll find a photo of (who I believe is) this (same) Paul with his stepdaughter, Heather. They’re on the farm beside an effigy and he’s braiding her hair, staring at the camera. His hand oddness isn’t caused by a shadow. In that thread, there’s also a still of this Paul from ‘Let It Be’ showing him wearing what can only be described as looking like a non-realistic rubber hand with a very narrow wrist visible between the cuff of his coat and the bottom end of the prosthetic. I think it may only be possible to enumerate Pauls by cataloging their anatomical oddities.

Since George Harrison was producing Billy's "That's the Way God Planned It" also at this time...it is possible and even likely that some of "Billy's Songs" may have been played during the Get Back Sessions. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/That%27s_the_Way_God_Planned_It"That's The Way God Planned It is the fourth studio album by American musician Billy Preston, released in August 1969 on Apple Records. The album followed Preston's collaboration with the Beatles on their "Get Back" single and was produced by George Harrison. The title track became a hit in the UK when issued as a single. Aside from Harrison, other contributors to the album include Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Doris Troy." However...according to the book Get Back: The Unauthorized Chronicle of The Beatles Let It Be Disaster" page 205...it is stated that "the available tapes for January 22,1969 are in extremely fragmentary condition, which accounts for the short running time of many of the performances, and the scarcity of in-studio dialogue. " During these sessions The Beatles along with Billy P. engaged in many jams and off-the-cuff songs...which could be listed on the reels as "Billy's Songs" since they were being led by him and his keyboard playing. John and Paul (Billy) can also be heard talking and joking about the coming break-up of the group by John (in a half joking/half serious manner) wanting to record a song called "I Had a Dream" to be the last Beatles single.

The bootlegs covering these sessions is tremendous and confusing...trust me...I have a crap load of them and most of the music made during this time period is terrible. Last I knew...there was supposed to be a bootleg series detailing in exact and complete chronological order these sessions. But I think it got stopped with Apple working on releasing a new Let It Be movie which covers this timeline. Funny...what happened to that movie? Where is it? Why hasn't it come out yet after all this time since its official announcement?

And what were they telling people they needed all their original Beatle fan-meet photos for? It was some other Big Project that never fucking happened, but all those physical snapshots were usurped.

"Billy's songs" is referring to Billy Shears, not Preston. Ya think ?
