I suspect that the switch may have been due to the fact that they tried to show so much in
this drawing that it would have signaled that something was amiss, drawing undue attention
to itself, while being too bewildering to be explainable if anyone asked about it. I will be commenting
on this and other Beatle album covers in the 'lucifer' thread later tonight or tomorrow.
I think that they tried to show a whole Iamaphoney video worth of material on this cover.
Some of this has been covered before:
The boat on the left is comprised of a pair of shoes (circled in
purple). Empty shoes: death.
Under the
green arrow, a square "sun roof" with Paul standing under it. (Crossing the river Styx.)
The yellow sail on the boat is a small jet. (Hear the Pink Floyd song "Learning To Fly".)
Small face on cliff surrounded in
violet looks a bit like George Martin.
Ringo's nostrils are out of place - possibly relating to the expression about "getting one's
nose out of joint" - suggests 'having a fit'.
Yellow circles - 2 Pauls dressed in yellow.
The one at the top of the mountain waving "Hi"; the other one
flying by John's nose, holding a baby.
The
orange circles the face of Dr. Mengele! So again, the idea that there are two Pauls, one
or both cloned in some way.
Circled in
red, lower right: a "tin man" type face on a rock? (?)
In the 'The Beatles' thing, there are 5 "flowers", one of which is
red. (5 Beatles; one 'dead'?)
There is a DNA type spiral or ladder between John's right glasses lense, and the Billy Shears face.
The child's face with the torch held over it "Statue of Liberty" style, with Johnny H. face or
something behind it. (Hear "Signs of Life" on Pink Floyd's "A Momentary Lapse of Reason".)
Under the bird's beak is an indecipherable (imo) archway of some sort.
