Recollection's and Reflections - Marmalade 1961-1971 from Junior Campbellwww.youtube.com/watch?v=6VuXSn4IoV4Published on Jan 1, 2014 "43 years ago ... we were getting VERY excited as it looked like this was about to be a big hit in the UK. Updated HD version, with additions, of a collage of snapshots from my personal collection. Very strange, to look at pics of yourself growing up, to music you've written - all, a very long time ago ................ truly "Reflections of MY Life" as a founder member of the band."

No one has mentioned this and I did a few Google searches to find out if anyone has noticed this or even mentioned it, but couldn't find anything and decided to point it out myself. I joined this board just to point this out, because it seems an odd coincidence considering how long ago this was made and how recently the alleged "rumor" about Junior really being Paul appeared. I'm also going to repost my comment from the video I'm sharing. This episode of South Park, Chef Aid from the 1998 season, has Chef briefly mention all the famous bands he knew. He mentions The Beatles, but the picture is clearly of him with Marmalade! youtu.be/Wa2hXyUzy8c?t=1m45s"HA HA HA! Did anyone else notice that Chef's picture with "The Beatles" is actually with the group "Marmalade" ? The reason that's so funny, is in recent years, a rumor popped up that Paul McCartney traded places with a guy from that band named William Campbell, was redubbed Junior Campbell because of how much shorter he was than the real William Campbell and on Paul McCartney's song Gratitude from 2007's Memory Almost Full played backwards, you can hear Paul say "Who is this now? I was Willie/Willy Campbell." This episode came out in 1998, before the rumor started, or at least way before I ever heard it." Also, Marmalade is mentioned by George in this Dick Caveat episode, which I'm sure has been pointed out, but I'd like to remind people about it. At the beginning, George makes "jokes" about there having been many Beatles and all the rumors being true. At around 20:30, he mentions Marmalade in regards to an article about "bad band behavior," ahem. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTsoXqAeQ7M

I heard Junior Campbell on a local radio interview a few weeks ago, telling the interviewer that some years ago at a showbiz party (can't recall which one, but he did say); Paul came over to him and said, "Pleased to meet you", and Junior said he was amazed he had come over to him at all and wanted to say to him, "Thankyou, you paid for my house", meaning that the royalties of "Obla-di-Obla-da" had done so. He is obviously a big fan. So it shoots down in flames any idea that Junior was Paul/Faul/Bill. As well as Junior looks even less like Paul than Bill does.

Didn't Paul Gambocini say that Junior Campbell was made up when (I forget who the producer was)was in a recording studio and he got so upset with the particular group/person in the studio that they had an argument and the producer said that he could get anyone to sing better than them and proved it by going outside and grabbing Campbell who was standing at a bus-stop. And yes he was better than the group/person.
I forget the details now, but I seem to remember this story.

There has been some talk about these fringe people, such as Ralph Ellis, for example, falls from history about 1966. But I do think there was a Ralph re-appearing, but looking different. He had been one who many speculated had been a fake John, and with good reasoning. I'm wondering if this Junior was a fake Paul, but the one who had been in an interview could have been a fake. It was a radio program, and no video to see who this person actually was speaking. That being said, we could be fed a line of crap that this person was a different individual and not a Faul. I say beware!
There are many groups from that time that sounded alot like the Beatles. It could very well be that some of these vocalists were used in the studio to sing Beatle material. It can be edited and mixed with other vocals and we have all of these studio mish mash of sounds, cuts and arrangements....derangements....George Martin was a master of mixing sounds.
We have been given a line of crap. I'm thinking this man existed, may have even been one of the many vocals post 66 who appeared on "Beatle" recordings.
Nothing would surprise me.

www.youtube.com/user/wcampbelljunior/featuredFool on the hill - sounds like a soundalike?www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zps9tQpYIM"Junior Campbell Published on Feb 13, 2019 a bit of fun ... and a bit of mischief ... "William Campbell sings Paul McCartney" Back in the 90's I was commissioned to write the music for a 6x50min TV drama for BBC Scotland ... apart from the incidental music this also required over 40 soundalike covers for the soundtrack including many Beatles tracks. Here's one, a short version of Fool On The Hill, where "William Campbell sings Paul McCartney" The series went on to pick up a BAFTA for Best Television Drama Serial 1995 great gig, great memories, my boy Paul did some terrific John Lennon which I might post at a later date. oh, and I also had the audacity to stick a string quartet on the second verse ... wonder what the great George Martin would have to say about that? Hurrruuuuuumph ..... ! "
