Split from: MultiPaulSince the guy in the She loves you clip is not really playing, he could easily be a stand-in. Before the internet, they must have used stand-in a lot more. Like maybe it's 1860something, and you go to see Abe Lincoln and it's not the real guy <grin> it's Fabe Fincoln. LMAO This post isn't intended to make the case Abe Lincoln was replaced, so I'm not going to the celeb section, however.. There was this debate going on here: www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1784278/postsAbout whether this was an early picture: A confirmed early pic: I guess what's interesting to me is that people are seeing all these similarities that confirm in their minds that it's the same guy.. I say no way.. Opinions?

That first picture sure is clear for an early photo of Abe.

The tilt of the ear seems to be off. In the top picture, the ear give the appearance of tilting back. In the second picture the ear seems to be in a more upright position.
In the second picture the eyes seem to be more deep set than the first picture. I do realize this is an older person, but I'm not sure the eyes would look quite that different.
That's my take.

it even looks like the same suit. Love the vest, Abe.

The second one is the earliest known picture of him, a daguerreotype taken by Nicholas H. Shepherd in 1846. WikiGood point about it looking rather clear, although a properly preserved daguerreotype can last forever. Google images has plenty of images, the ear is the deal breaker for me.

abe photo 2 looks spooky. the image at wiki is not flipped, so your image may be flipped! or is it? that's weird with the buttons.

There is a backwards tape where Fabe actually says, "I buried John Wilkes Booth," although some people say he is simply saying "Wow, it sucks to die while watching this terrible show. I wish I had been a dancer. If my parents hadn't been so mean about my dancing, I might not be in this position." And if you put a mirror up to his "Four Score" speech, provided it is on the original hemp paper, you will get a clear image of Alister Crowley. It doesn't really make sense, but it does in some odd alternative universe - you know what I mean? <grin>

Well if we were to assume that the top picture is real, then it would be an even earlier picture of Abe than the 2nd picture. The condition that the second picture seems to be in tells me that an earlier picture would have more wear and tear, if not a similar amount.

I'm with JoJo. The ears are different on both men. The earlobe on Abe appears to be attached. The ear on the other man sits lower on his head.

That doesn't even look like the same man. Oh, I see, the rugged faced man we thought of as Abe Lincoln or "Fabe" as John Wilkes Booth called him, was really Hiram B. Campbell, who was really a Confederate! Although some AID/AWR forums claimed he was the great-grandfather of Don Knotts, and his name was I.M.N. Knotts. Others claimed he was a Southern Belle who dressed in drag before the Civil War. Fabe had sent out documents that stated "I am Abe. Really I am. I know who is REALLY buried in Grant's tomb!" Other possible Civil War replacements: Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson!

I don't know if we should split the topic here again because something terrible has happened. The worst thing that could ever happen to a man in fact. I am being replaced by Don Knotts. Epstein is dead, Abe is gone and no he is looking to get back into replacing guys. Although I am a minor league player, Knotts said he needs time in the minors to get back in shape. It is very difficult to come back from the dead, but Knotts can do it. Meanwhile, I am thinking about replacing JoJo, just so I have a place to be. It's hard to hang out with the guys who get replaced. It's not like I want to sit around and drink cokes with JPM and hear him rant on about how the girls chased him around back in the day. Where the is sherif andy griffith when you need him? That's the thing about cops...

I certainly hope this man didn't have the original pair of "press on ears" that was the prototype for the pair Bill used in that often disputed photo. I didn't know that rubber ears were invented that long ago.
