I saw at Tafultongs blog that Mr. Baker closed his account after the incident with ' rotten apple freedom fighters' or whatever they are called. I think this is rather strange. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

geoffbakerdiaryofamadman.blogspot.com/ all I know is what Tafultong already described at his blog. Someone forced Geoff to make a statement on iamaphoney, and since he haven't written anything and for now it is closed. strange, I think.

I think it is time to reconize iama as a real insider and to take this more serious. This is going on IRL, for christ sake.

Aw too bad, was waiting for the conclusion to the cliffhanger to be posted.
I hadn't read the comments in a week or two, but I got the overall impression he wasn't taking the "freedom fighter" business all that seriously. He must have his reasons obviously, but it's a bit of a leap to assume it's IAAP related.

I don't know how many here read the entire book up to the cut-off point, (I suspect I'm the only one) but I enjoyed it. Anyone who knows that he was Sir Paul's press agent is going to assume the story's ego maniacal boss Ian Taylor is modeled after his old boss.. I wonder if said boss got a bit perturbed? Maybe not, and who knows if Geoff's ego is so fragile that he would take down the story because of what he termed "hate mail". (from the 'IAAP Freedom Fighters') I, like you, can only guess. I noticed that he didn't really get a lot of comments, all things considered.. Wonder if he felt it didn't get the admiration it deserved?
I was thinking of archiving it too, damn.

I think he just got to the point where his blog had served its purpose and the book is most likely on track to be published. I didn't read the whole thing, but it sure seemed marketable to me. Although if I were the publisher I would suggest that he continue to communicate in some way with his potential customers instead of just disappearing. But, we are talking about Geoff Baker.
Geoff Baker didn't seem rattled at all by the troll-like behavior that briefly imposed on his blog, so I think that is a non-issue. I said at the time that I didn't think it was Iamaphoney's style. Others saw it as perfectly congruent with Iamaphoney's strategy of using misleading YouTube identities, and I couldn't really dispute that. I just see the blog attack as a more aggressive strategy than the misleading YouTube name thing.
There have been a couple of unsettling and aggressive acts attributed to Iamaphoney (aside from the video content itself) but in each case it was third party claiming to speak on behalf of Iamaphoney.
So, my personal jury is still out on the question of Iamaphoney's involvement in the Geoff Baker blog disappearance. In fact, I would like to be excused as a juror in this case because of my work schedule, my desire to spend more time with my new bass guitar, Great Britain's involvement in the war in Biafra, and "Cold Turkey" slipping down the charts .

Mr Baker is doing voluntary work designed for the long-term unemployed in Lyme Regis, Dorset. He said he hopes to turn it into a business venture, charging visitors to accompany him as he gives a guided tour at the same time. This is heartbreaking. I wasn't a big fan of Geoff when he worked for McCartney because I thought he was too abrasive to be a PR man. But later, when I had the opportunity to correspond with him, I found him to be decent, caring, albeit depressed person. His loyalty to Paul is unwavering to this day as far as I can tell. He insisted to me that Paul and Linda (Especially Linda!) had no preoccupation with Aleister Crowley. I attempted to keep the correspondences with Geoff going after I confirmed with a famous Beatle-Related webmaster that I was in fact communicating with the real deal, but eventually he stopped responding and I didn't want to pester him. I wish Geoff the very best in his pursuit of happiness and financial stability.

www.examiner.com/paul-mccartney-in-national/former-paul-mccartney-pr-man-announces-drop-date-for-rock-n-roll-novelAfter what he calls "a six-year struggle to get it into print," former Paul McCartney public relations man Geoff Baker has announced "his rude, racy and irreverent novel about the music industry" will be out this month.
The first copies of "Rock Bottom," a limited edition of 1,000, will be available on Amazon.co.uk Feb. 14th from Ragabond Press, a co-effort with former journalist Jill Newton. (Baker told us it will also be available in the U.S.)
