Wednesday, 10th June 2009 'UFOs' spotted in the skieswww.chichester.co.uk/mid-sussex-news/UFOs-spotted-in-the-skies.5347681.jpWERE there UFOs over Balcombe? A Haywards Heath resident saw some strange orange lights in the sky on the outskirts of the village and he is intrigued to know what they were. The resident from Ashenground Road, who did not want to be named, was travelling in a taxi with his family on the way home from a half-term break at about 11.30pm on Saturday May 31. He said: "My wife noticed them first - a row of 15 bright orange, red lights and the first three were symmetrical in a diamond shape. The lights were so bright we could see them through the trees. "My initial impression was it might be a Chinook Helicopter or a military exercise. When I opened the Daily Mail last Thursday there was an article about a similar row of lights that had been seen over Cambridgeshire. They were nothing like a plane. I've always been sceptical about UFOs but I am intrigued and wonder if anyone else saw them." His wife added: "They were like two giant Christmas trees or Crystal Palace towers - that's the only way I can describe them. They were mainly red with orange on the right hand side. There's speculation the lights over Cambridgeshire were Chinese lanterns but the lights we saw weren't moving." The couple had no time to take a photograph because they were travelling in a taxi but they have used computer wizardry to create an impression of what they saw.
