Hello all. I've been researching PID for two plus weeks now. I'm not even a Beatle fan, but I'm starting to become a fan of their early work. I enjoy everything up to and including A Hard Day's Night.
At first, I assumed that Paul must have died because of all the clues, all the photos of different-looking Pauls and, of course, the gruesome death photos that keep showing up on the Internet. I read the Italian website (diglander?) and some others and thought it must be true. But none of the death rumors and photos have really convinced me.
But yesterday, I found some smoking guns. Two or three videos have convinced me that the real JPM and the other three Beatles decided to retire around 1964 and to pursue their own dreams and career paths. Paul started using doubles for interviews and photos first. They held look-alike and sound-alike contests for all four (maybe only three) and used the winners in studio recordings etc.
The real Paul was replaced by 4 or 5 doubles (at least):
1) a guy I call Pudge-Faced Paul...He's the guy who died in the car crash and the guy on the Butcher album cover.
2) a guy I call Plain-Looking Paul...He's the guy on the "trunk" album cover and in some of the Magical Mystery Tour movie.
3) William Sheppard-Campbell, the guy they brought over from Canada and sent to Africa for surgery.
4) Cecile Pearl Witherington, the SOE lady who took hormones and had some surgery so she could fill in for him. She's the "Paul" at Shea Stadium and in the second Beatles movie.
5) Phil Ackrill. He's the guy who started and played in Wings - possibly.
6) Neil Aspinall probably filled in as Paul for a short time.
I also believe that the real John Lennon is still alive and that his double was shot in NY. He was determined to tell people the truth and he wanted to stop playing his role as "John". Therefore, he was too hard to control and Yoko Ono, his handler, cooperated with whoever planned it.
