Grandfather Aleister couldn't be here today, so I've taken the liberty of posting an excerpt from a movie with a meaningful Volkswagon "beetle" scene in it. You may have heard of this one; it's called "Candy" and features some wanna-be movie actor named Ringo Starr. Look for the scene starting at 2:44 where the blonde woman, Candy, is walking along the bridge. Right after that, at 2:56 you'll see the dark beetle approaching. The whole clip is worth watching, imo. Certainly 'beetle' fans will take note of the red flower in the guru's hand. Perhaps that's the one that was missing when the flowers were delivered to the Magical Mystery Tour set, and poor Faul had to make do with a black one. Oh, and speaking of Magical Mystery Tour, you might want to refresh your memory of these scenes: Goodness! The link to that video above is v=P-iODoij-pk . Don't you just love synchronicity?Well I see that Jude has made this video private since I posted it here. Thanks a lot, Jude. What did you do that for?

www.artandpopularculture.com/Candy_(movie)"Candy is a 1968 countercultural film directed by (magic) Christian Marquand. Based on the 1958 novel by Terry Southern and Mason Hoffenberg, it starred Ringo Starr, Ewa Aulin, Charles Aznavour, Marlon Brando, Richard Burton, James Coburn, John Huston, Walter Matthau, and Sugar Ray Robinson. Anita Pallenberg and Florinda Bolkan also appear in small parts. In a 2002 review Constantine Verevis remarks that the film was "by no means an American International Pictures-type, low-budget, exploitation film; Candy involved several production companies and a host of international talent, including a screenplay by Buck Henry, opening and closing sequences designed by Douglas Trumbull, title and other music by The Byrds and Steppenwolf." " ------------------------- In other words, the studio went "all out" for this one, for some reason. "The opening sequence shows Candy (Ewa Aulin) descending to Earth from outer space. In the next scene, she is in school, where her father (John Astin) is also her teacher. She attends a poetry recital by eccentric poet MacPhisto (Richard Burton), who offers her a ride home in his limousine. At her home, MacPhisto gets increasingly drunk and continues to recite poems, inspiring Candy and the Mexican gardener Emanuel (Ringo Starr) to have sex. After this scandal, the family decides to send her off to a private school, and she embarks on a psychedelic journey during which she meets a number of strange people, including a sex starved military general (Walter Matthau), a doctor who performs public operations (James Coburn), a hunchback (Charles Aznavour) and a fake Indian guru (Marlon Brando). The story bears a marked similarity to Voltaire's Candide, including its naïve protagonist (switched from male to female), its penchant for exploring human sexuality, the protagonist's far-reaching travels, and her attempt to find some basic Good in humanity among all its charlatans and hypocrites. Whereas Candide is generally taken advantage of for a variety of reasons/uses, however, Candy herself is almost always sought after for her sexual appeal. This comes closer to the portrayal of Cunégonde, the heroine of Voltaire's novel. "---------------- It's kind of interesting that Candy's real name, Ewa Aulin, has the word "alien" in it. In any case, this movie seems to have made an impression on George, whose "When We Was Fab" video closes with him floating in the air the way the guru does in the scene in the video I posted above. And, when I hear the opening lines of George's song: Back then long time ago when grass was green Woke up in a daze Arrived like stangers in the night Fab - long time ago when we was fab I have to say, it does correspond with the beginning of the Candy film, in as much as she arrives (but not at night), and is in a bit of a daze at first, as you can see here: In the final scene, she departs Earth, looking like a diamond in the sky. As the credits roll, the Byrds song "Candy/Child of the Universe" plays, asking the question: "(Or) did she exist?"

At the end of the video above, he mentions a friend of theirs, and sings this song.
Strange Kind of Woman (with a bit of "Jesus Christ, Superstar" thrown in)
There once was a woman, a strange kind of woman The kind that gets written down in history Her name was Nancy, her face was nothing fancy She left a trail of happiness and misery
I loved her, everybody loved her She loved everyone and gave a good return I tried to take her, I even tried to break her She said, "I ain't for taking; won't you ever learn?"
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you (got to get you into my life) I spent my money as I took my turn I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you Oh I got a strange kind of woman
She looked like a raver but I could never please her On wednesday mornings boy you can't go far I couldn't get her, but things got better: She said, "Saturday nights, from now on, baby you're my star!"
She finally said she loved me, I wed her in a hurry No more callers and I glowed with pride I'm dreaming, I feel like screaming I won my woman just before she died!
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you I spent my money as I took my turn I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you Oh I got a strange kind of woman

Well, sorry if I lost you. I have no idea of whether Lady GaGa is "mushroom illuminated" or not. I just figured that since no one had any comments to make about the movie, we could take a musical break. A meaningful one, though. To tell you the truth, I have not seen the movie Candy, but - uh - I've seen "the play". I mean, I know enough about what's going on with PID/PWR to connect the dots; I just don't have all the pieces put together yet. (Please pardon the mixed metaphor.) I was looking forward to peoples' comments, and input, and I thank you for yours! Think of it in this way: There are some lines in the Blondie song "Angels on a Balcony" that go: They can still see him singing on the corner; singing songs That never fade away, (They) fade into the kids that come alongWhen Lady GaGa did that performance for the queen, she was playing a piano that was suspended 18 feet above the stage. Seems odd, doesn't it? Maybe you could say it was as if she was "on a balcony". Whether she's an angel... that may be another matter, but she's dressed up like something! And of course the music does continue from one generation to the next, so that you have, say, Dusty Springfield, Sylvie Vartan, Petula Clark, and then Blondie, Pink, Heart, and then Hillary Duff, Kelly Clarkson and Lady GaGa. Well...something like that. Buddy Holly ---->Beatles---->Green Day---->whoever But the names.... and the songs 'talk to each other'. Ringo has an album out called "Y Not". The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a song called "Y Control". (partial lyrics of Y Control)oh so all my lovin' go's under the fog fog fog and i will leave them all well i'm just a poor little baby cause well i believe them all
oh so while your growing old under the gun gun gun and i believe them all...By now I've heard so much about fog and guns, I could write the song myself! Foghat Guns N Roses there's a fog upon LA happiness is a warm gun I mean, I can practically describe the scene of the crime, and who dunnit! But... I can't get the pieces to fit. I can see the picture! It's just a matter of time you see.... I'm doing my best to share with you (and everyone who reads this), but - this is going to be... "a trip[/color]". In the mean time, here's a little song you can all join in with, and I say, "It's all right!" So please do. It's a MUSE-ical, afterall. Please please me! ;D Care to dance?

Interesting video, skyward. I had never seen that one before. We're 'in Eden', eh? I have been doing a ton of 'research' the last few days, and frankly, I could write a book at this point. Hang on! We're going to kick this up into high gear, more or less out of necessity. That "5 minutes to midnight" image in "Rlngo Starr"'s latest video tells me that we're short on time for discussing any of this. I will get back to Candy in just a bit; I promise! In the meantime though, I thought I'd post this video of a "flaming pie". I don't know where else to put it, so it's going here. Well, come to think of it, maybe this does tie in. After all, Candy was "an alien" in the movie.

The following comments are my opinion, and not necessarily the truth, 'tho I don't intend to mislead."O" is a person. The "O" may allude to the person Othello in Shakespeare's play of that name, as it does in the movie poster above. The Beatles liked "Billy Shears", and the whole PID/PWR story resonates with "Macca-Beth", except that it is played out in "real life" and in modern times. (Hence: "And though she feels as if she's in a play, she is anyway.") I believe this is the concept behind Bowie's claims in the song "Life on Mars": But the film is a saddening bore 'Cause I wrote it ten times or more It's about to be writ again As I ask you to focus on....In other words, the stories of Shakespeare are acted out in real life through every age, and Bowie in the role of the author, updates the script for every cycle. The girl who: walks through her sunken dream To the seat with the clearest view And she's hooked to the silver screen But the film is a saddening bore 'Cause she's lived it ten times or more She could spit in the eyes of fools As they ask her to focus on...is seeing how she has "played her role" through each cycle of time. Bowie, speaking as the true author (Shakespeare) of the drama of our "reality", updates the script to match each age. But then again, the author of your life story is largely you. So he you was. Is. "Will" Be. It's "the act you've known for all these years" because it's you! Of course, on the Sgt. Pepper album, Ringo is introduced as "Billy Shears" (Shakespeare). This is in keeping with what happened in the 1500s. A "fool" was presented to the public as the man who had written the plays when, in fact, they appear to have been assembled in committee, with the work amalgamated into one final script. Ringo may have been the public face of the true authors: John, Paul, and George, and...whoever. Understand, then, that "O" can be someone at one time, and someone else in another. "O" Susannah was the person in Steven Foster's time, while Karen "O" may be the current version. A better way to understand it would be that one spirit is manifested in a number of personalities, and "O" identifies that spirit. So you may be "O". "Darling" tends to refer to Paul McCartney, in my opinion. With that in mind, let's move on. Don't worry if you're not clear on that; I'm not either. ;D

I don't blame you for quitting; I know you really tried. If only you could hang on through the night! 'Cause I don't want to be lonely; I don't want to be scared, And all our friends are waiting thereIn the David Bowie clip above in reply # 13, the opening words are mumbled. He sings: "Hey now now" and then words that are written as "good bye love" or "unintelligible" on the song lyrics pages on the internet. What I hear, though, sounds like "welcome home" sung somewhat sheepishly.

This is a song by the late Kevin Gilbert who got Sheryl Crow her start in music and was her boyfriend back then.
This Kevin Gilbert song is performed by Shaun Guerin.
Lyrics:
The attendant at the Texaco saw the guitar case in my back seat
and decided to impart his tragic tale
He said: “I used to play in a band like you,
we even made a record too”
and sang a bar that hardly rang a bell
Now I’m not one to make a lot
of omens and premonitions and fleeting thoughts
but I must admit that I tried to avoid his stare
‘Cause I didn’t want to see him see himself in me
with the look of an extinguished flame that might be lurking there
Waxing sad with drip and dreg,
c’mon now Toto get off my leg,
you gotta remember we’re not in Kansas anymore
And remember always to look both ways,
say “please” and “thank you” and curtsey twice
before you gore their sacred dinosaurs…
Welcome to the City of the Sun
Johnny on the sidewalk,
Johnny on the street,
Johnny in the places where the outlaws meet
Johnny on the sofa,
Johnny shaking hands,
Johnny got a spinning head in wonderland
Welcome to the City of the Sun
Oh Johnny you’ve got a song in your heart
You’ve got important things to say
We’re here to help you make a new start
We’re not gonna take your heart away
You stand before us like a veiled figure at the end of a long gallery
Distant and forever mysterious
Advice from the tasteless to the bland
Wash all that magic from your hands
Make it so we might understand
Good Morning Precious...
Good Morning Special
I've got news for you.
There's millions like you
Where power seems to get no rest
it's the shaming of the true I guess and Zombie,
I can see you're qualified
Johnny on the sidewalk,
Johnny on the street,
Johnny in the places where the bigwigs meet
Welcome to the City of the Sun
Oh, Johnny you've got a seed in your head
It is the seed of your demise
Ambition's gonna lure you away
Into the land of compromise
You stand before us like a brash over-ripened nectarine
and someone better pick you soon
Advice for the dying from the dead
Silence the voices in your head
Wouldn't you rather eat instead?

I had not known that Kevin Gilbert was buds with Julian Lennon. It's interesting that the person on Kevin's album cover appears to be holding a pair of Lennon glasses. And may be headless. "Heads will roll" sing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. "Off with her head!" the Red Queen shouts in the books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in 1865 and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass[/i] in 1871. (Lewis Caroll appears on the cover of Sgt. Pepper, of course.) But the 5 fingers up...what's with that? This album cover looks as if the fellow was hung - possibly 'til his neck snapped and was severed. Was he hung five times, perhaps in previous lives? Or did he deserve to be hung five times because he killed five people? It's curious that Kevin alledgedly died of autoerotic asphyxiation, which would involve a type of hanging oneself. But the Lennon glasses.... Was Kevin Gilbert one to wear Lennon glasses? (Does anyone here know?) I don't mean to be callous, so please forgive me if this seems crass, but I suspect what follows is a clue. (In fact I'm quite certain that it is. ) Gallows Pole Led ZeppelinHangman, hangman, hold it a little while, I Think I see my friends coming, Riding a many mile. Friends, you get some silver? Did you get a little gold? What did you bring me, my dear friends? Keep me from the Gallows Pole. What did you bring me to keep me from the Gallows Pole? I brought a little gold, I brought a little of everything To keep you from the Gallows Pole. Yes, I brought you to keep you from the Gallows Pole. Hangman, hangman, turn your head awhile, I think I see my sister coming, riding many mile, mile, mile. Sister, I implore you, take him by the hand, Take him to some shady bower, save me from the wrath of this man, Please take him, save me from the wrath of this mad, man. Hangman, hangman, upon your face a smile, Tell me that I'm free to ride, Ride for many mile, mile, mile. Oh yes, you got a fine sister, She warmed my blood from cold, She warmed my blood to boiling hot to keep you from the Gallows Pole, Your brother brought me silver, Your sister warmed my soul, But now I laugh and pull so hard, see you swinging from the Gallows Pole But now I laugh and pull so hard, see you swinging from the Gallows Pole Swingin' on the gallows pole! There was no such person that we can identify who had the name Marjorie Daw and we therefore make the assumption that this was purely used to rhyme with the words 'seesaw' i.e "Seesaw Marjory Daw". The last three lines of "Seesaw Margery Daw" appear to reflect the use of child labour in work houses where those with nowhere else to live would be forced to work for a pittance (a penny a day) on piece work (because he can't work any faster). The words of "Seesaw Margery Daw" might be used by a spiteful child to taunt another implying his family were destined for the workhouse. Seesaw Margery Daw poem: Seesaw Margery Daw Johnny shall have a new master He shall earn but a penny a day Because he can't work any faster "--------------------------- which of course ;D ties in with this: Ride my See Sawwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo2DQBlVcJ0Ride, ride my see-saw, Take this place On this trip Just for me. Ride, take a free ride, Take my place Have my seat It's for free. I worked like a slave for years, Sweat so hard just to end my fears. Not to end my life a poor man, But by now, I know: I should have run! Run, run my last race, Take my place Have this number Of mine. Run, run like a fire! Don't you run in In the lanes; Run for time[/b]. Left school with a first class pass, Started work but as second class. School taught one and one is two. But right now, that answer just ain't true. Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah My world is spinning around; Everything is lost that I found. People run; come ride with me! Let's find another place that's free! Ride, ride my see-saw, Take this place On this trip Just for me. Ride, take a free ride, Take my place Have my seat It's for free. Ride, my see-saw. Ride, ride, ride, my see-saw. ---------------------- Now, at this point, I know what you are saying! "Letter B, you are all over the place with this stuff. I can barely follow what you're talking about here. What does all this have to do with Dr. Winston O Boogie, or Candy or black Volkswagons, or whatever?!" And the answer is: I am trying to show you how I think the game is/was played. It will all come together, God willing and the river don't rise, which, as a matter of fact, it is where I am living at the moment. Oh, and uh....Your move!

Nostradamus is looking quite a lot like Charlie Manson in that painting.

I had made a similar remark elsewhere, SS. ;D So we have P(D)enny relating the upheld hand to the one over Faul's head on Pepper, and iameye extending the thought to include "the word" (open book) being over "the ram(?)" and twins (gemini) which might be interpreted as both varieties of Paul; the RAM one (Faul) and the Gemini born one. So "the word", protected by the hand of the divine, found expression in the Pauls, and continues to do so through music that The Beatles (and others) have made. Of course, I may have just totally insulted P(D)enny and iameye, with my interpretation of their chosen imagery, but it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong or right, 'cause if I'm wrong, I'm right where I belong, and I'm sure they'll let me know about it. And so why the "thud"? I am guessing that the cover could mean that Lennon's death ended the transmission of "the word" through Beatles music, and through the 'annointed' Paul (Faul). In other words, John's words were what Paul had sung, and with John's death, the "protection" of Faul's career ended. (This may have been what the cover designer felt.) On a grander scale, one might say this: The concept, I think, of the clue-givers may have been that The Word (aka God, etc.) speaks to you and I through time, using symbols and music; and "what speaks to you" is what works, even if it's "ridiculous" to someone else. It's not that there is no method or "madness" to the clues; they appear to be a presentation of multiple historical religious and literary references in modern guise. In your search for clues, you find "the source" and attune yourself to it/him/her/them. You "find another kind of mind there", and by connecting to it, gain insight into what was intended. And even if you find the evidence was 'spoken' or presented "backwards" (and you very well might ) the clues still work because the "God mind" is able to converse with yours, and enable you to put the clues in a sequential order. Now about that black "beatle".... ;D

Now about that black "beatle".... ;D This is sort of the position that I was advocating a few months ago, B, when I said this: We are here because he/they WANT us to believe that there are multiple Pauls. It's really impossible at this point to dispute the fact that they have been using this to get our attention for over FOURTY YEARS. This deliberate leaving of the clues is more important, in my opinion, than the actual clues themselves.
As Jarv indicated in his Pepper enigma thread, and as I've pointed to in that thread as well, this is about more than the scar, and the nose, and the chin, and the higher-pitched voice on Fool on the Hill.
This is about them trying to get our attention in order to deliver a very important message.
I believe that THAT message is that we are at the end of an age and that we need to be ready for the next one.
And I'm not a religious freak. Hell, I'm not even religious AT ALL.
But come on, people, these are the end times we're living in.
Or at the very least they want us to THINK that they are.
Wars and rumors of war?
CHECK.
Pestilence and disease?
CHECK.
The building of the third Temple?
COMING RIGHT UP.

The dividing of Jerusalem?
COMING RIGHT UP.

One world Government?
OBAMA IS CURRENTLY CHAIRING THE U.N. SECURITY COUNCIL (which is unconstitutional, btw).
A great deceiver in power?
SEE ABOVE.
As for our kid...
Are there multiple Pauls?
Maybe.
Is he/are they gods?
Maybe.
Is he/are they prophets?
YES. ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY.
But stop getting bogged down with the clues. The clues are just a means to an end, and in this case, the "end" is the fact that we are at THE END, which is also a beginning.
Does the love you've taken equal the love you've made?
THAT really might be the most important point of all.
P(D) Now, to carry it all a step further, I think we need to ask who "they" are, and I think that B is proposing that "they" are some kind of divine presence, and I agree that *part of this* is divine. The divine is working at the Director level though, and most of the characters in our play are merely mortals who feel as if they're in a play, but are anyway.
Where is the line drawn? At what point do my synchromystic happenstances cease to be happenstance and become MESSAGES from from some string-pulling Director?
It's one of the oldest questions in the book, but it's a REALLY good question.
The cover of Pepper is a great example.
How on earth did Peter Blake, John, Paul, George, Ringo, Neil, and Mal create that masterpiece of sacred geometry from a pre-digital photograph of a bunch of wooden cutouts???
And an even more important question is WHY?
Well, as I indicated above, it wasn't done by them.
It was done by "them", and "they" did it in order to get our attention and get us to start our own individual searches for spiritual enlightenment.
At least that's what I believe.
