Dear jarv
I believe I have a medical condition similar to yours. As I will be passing close by round about cropping time, are you up for a visit?

Must be nice, my best friend's not-so-legal garden was just raided. I just spent 2 weeks worth of legwork & $10,000 of his money to get him out of federal detention. Now jury selection is next week & he could be facing 5yrs in federal prison.
Those cookies of his were a true godsend that helped so many different things. 5 yrs in prison for making medical cookies.... this really sux. So now I'm back to having to take big pharma drugs.... right where the gov't wants me..... this also really sux

Hey guys
If there's enough of us, we can all club together and hire a coach; I know a willing driver (Alf) - roll up - we can all pay jarv a visit!

All I need is a stick of 'green" butter. My general sense of humor just took a major blow to the gut.

Mine are not flowers in the dirt. Hey! You've got to hydro love away. ;D Oregon's medical laws allow for possession of up to 1.5 pounds (680 grams) of dried flowers, and up to 24 plants, six of which may be flowering. The picture I posted is of just one plant that I bent, tied, and otherwise trained to produce multiple tops. Outside of the medical laws, Oregon law says that if person A transfers to person B less than five grams of marijuana, and if the transfer is made for free, then the deed is equivalent to a traffic violation and no crime has been committed. -j P.S. eyesbleed: I'm frustrated and sorry to hear about your friend. (Did he have more than 99 plants?)

Sorry Eyesbleed that does suck. And I just don't get the whole "federal detention" thing, because.. This should IMO be a state issue, NOT federal, the federal govt. is overreaching on 10th amendment grounds. However the constitution has been turned into toilet paper the last few decades, why should this be any different? If California out and out legalizes and taxes, CA will be drawing a line in the sand.. Should be VERY interesting. OK Jarv, that IS bud porn, LOL. I haven't picked up an issue in many years, but I remember the "centerfold" of High Times often looked similar to the pic you posted, heh.

P.S. eyesbleed: I'm frustrated and sorry to hear about your friend. (Did he have more than 99 plants?) I think so, but I could be mistaken I hope he had less than 100, because at the federal level, 100 plants carries a five year mandatory minimum. Are they gonna take his house and cars and stuff? -j

Oh hell, 5yrs + loosing the house & car & stuff? I certainly hope not. We're really hoping for just probation & the loss of the garden. If he did get the 5yrs, I'd be the one taking care of the house & cars & stuff... as if I have the time.
Ya we really need to be filling our prisons with otherwise law abiding, non-violent, responsible citizens who work hard, pay their bills, & don't hurt anyone.
Next thing you know jalapenos will be illegal because of all their health benefits..... a jalapeno-juice/Vaseline mixture just erased my psoriasis, eliminating my need to go to the dermatologist to get the overpriced big pharma creams for that...... if too many people learn about this, we're gonna be filling our prisons with people who grow peppers without gov't approval. Big pharma's gonna read this.....then the gov't will have to clamp down on the pepper market. Lots of peppers come across the border from Mexico. Actually, the jal/vaseline mixture works better than the expensive big pharma meds on psoriasis.

The United States would save $40 billion per year if we just let all the pot growers and dealers out of prison. I vote YES! -j

It's gonna be 5 yrs in minimum security federal prison & he can keep his house, car & inheritance. Good that they didn't ream him on the property confiscation, (mighty good of them, eh) but the five years sucks. We all know that stealing is wrong, murdering someone is wrong, but it took a piece of paper and a signature to make using/growing a certain plant substance wrong.. Perfectly OK up until 1937, (or thereabouts) and then it isn't. Just like a magic trick! Who benefits from the illegality of marijuana: The police, the prison industry, and of course the black market infrastructure, which was out of work once prohibition ended.

It's gonna be 5 yrs in minimum security federal prison. %#@*! son of a bitch. First I am opposed to messing up this guys life like that, and second, I don't want to support his healthy ass with my tax dollars. Why oh why do we remove productive people from the economy, thereby losing the wealth they create, and then we lose even more by paying out of our own pockets for them to waste away in prison. It is a retarded system. he can keep his house, car & inheritance. At least they got that part right. -j

He's been in lockup for 6 weeks now. He seems in pretty good spirits most of the time, sometimes, not so much. To add insult to injury they shipped him off to Colorado of all places.... Plus he's too far away for family & friends to visit. His confirmed release date is at the end of 2014. No time off for good behavior under any circumstance. Your tax dollars at work! My daughter & her family have moved from their rent house into his much nicer house rent-free saving them $750 a month. So, at least one good thing came out of this crap.

Thanks for the update Eyesbleed.
I wish my state (NH) wasn't so damn prissy and uptight, 'cause if they DID get a bug up their ass about legalizing MJ, then they would fight federal butting in, 'cause we got an undercurrent of state's rights or else here.. We did tell them to stick it with "Real ID", which is something.. Still waiting for someone to be told they are not welcome in a federal building because NH licenses aren't valid there.
I'm with Jarv, why do we need to support someone who is a productive member of society? Keeping him penned up is expensive no doubt, when you factor in all the labor costs, plus the costs of maintaining a prison. Why do we continue to elect these idiots who pass these laws with this end result? When will we realize they only have the power we give to them?
