I am astonished that I can find no mention of Pete Bennett anywhere on this board. Pete took over promoting The Beatles when Brian died. After they broke up he continued working as promoter for them as individual artists. He is currently launching a TV show. For the pilot, Pete arranged for Denny Laine to play a couple of shows, the first of which was played at the historic Elsinore Theatre in Salem, Oregon of all places. (The Elsinore Theatre takes its name from Billy Shears' Hamlet). -j P.S. Denny and the boys performed some Beatles tunes, though I don't know which ones. I wonder if they played Elsinore Rigby. ;D

Just a theory, perhaps the reason why he's not mentioned is because HowDoYouSleep (*aka Eddie Addison) managed to pissed off a whole board. He claimed to have worked with Pete Bennett (I couldn't tell you if he really knew him or not). HDYS had that "Beatles Tribute" album and told that one story about how his dad was the real inspiration for Sgt. Pepper.

The show was in 2008. Sadly, I did not learn about it until after it was over. -j

I am astonished that I can find no mention of Pete Bennett anywhere on this board. Umm I mentioned Pete some time ago during a discussion concerning the replacement of B.B. King recap: When Beatles publicist Pete Bennett and Beatles promoter Sid Bernstein got together for a project separate from their principle clients years later, the Beatles ran into B.B. again. But B.B. noticed that Paul was different. I know it wasn't MUCH of a mention, but ...
