The following book review appears in the "the fine print" column of diamond city,
the July 29 - Aug 4, 2010 issue.
'diamond city' is "Luzerne County's Guide to Arts and Entertainment" and can be
reached at: 75 N. Washinton Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18711
"New in paperback fiction:
Paul is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion
by Alan Goldsher
Gallery Books, 2010, $15, 310 pages
First we had Jane Austen's Mr. Darcy running in his billowing white shirt, no doubt, from
flesh-eating armies. Then we watched as the Dashwood sisters dashed away in horror ,
corsets in check,, from sea monsters. Next up, we revisited American history when we read
about Abraham Lincoln whilst in his vampire-hunting days.
With the recent onslaught of zombies/ vampires/ werewolves in the publishing scene, it maskes sense
that the newest victims on the chopping block would be the beloved Beatles, of corurse.
Entirely aware of the trend it's following, the book jacket is graced with a zombie-fied version
of the Fab Four crossing Abbey Road....only Ringo's been replaced by a ninja.
Are you still with me?
The story presented as an oral history as recounted by the Beatles, starting with Zombie John
finding and killing Paul to bring him into his new zombie band.
They find and recruit undead Gerorge and later hire Seventh Level Ninja Lord Ringo Starr,
and before you know it, they are stealing the hearts and minds (literally, like, with their teeth)
of teenage girls across the globe.
Mind you, they have to play their music, eat brains, plan world domination, and make
television and radio appearances, all while being chased by England's greatest and most
infamous zombie hunter, Mick Jagger."

I don't intend to buy a copy, but I pass this on, for what it's worth.
