That's Madonna with the short legs....
Linus, I'm not sure who that is in your photo above, I was thinking more of the pic with Paul and Mike sitting down with mother Mary on a hillside I think she had her arms around them.
Ps. on the pic of Halliday above, notice the broken tooth. Imagine that face young with dark hair and no wrinkles.

Could we find out more about Halliday's background?

Came across this odd historical figure that I had never heard of, HALLIDAY MACARTNEY Anyone? Has ties to both Scotland AND Liverpool! Weird. Halliday Macartney (1833–1906) was a military surgeon and later a diplomat serving the Chinese government during the late Qing dynasty. He was a member of the same family as George Macartney, the 18th century British ambassador to China.[1] Macartney studied medicine and served as a surgeon in the Crimean War. He went with his regiment to China and resigned his commission to join the Chinese army of General Charles Gordon which was subduing the Taiping rebels. He decided to make his home in China and married a Chinese woman in December 1864. He became a civil servant of the Chinese imperial government, first in China and then in England. His first wife was a near relative of Lar Wang, one of the leaders of the Taiping rebellion. They had three sons and a daughter;[2] the eldest son, George, served as the British representative in Kashgar for 28 years. The Macartneys lived in Nanjing until 1876 when Macartney left for London to serve as secretary to successive Chinese ministers at the Court of St James. His wife stayed behind and died two years later. books.google.com/books?id=-osCAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA8&lpg=PA8&dq=john+halliday+liverpool&source=bl&ots=4irO3mN2RZ&sig=RJOK6Nr8I50hxvLzAyuRQBBfaHU&hl=en&sa=X&ei=-aaiVMifC9fcoAS2o4GYBw&ved=0CB0Q6AEwADgU#v=onepage&q=john%20halliday%20liverpool&f=false

'Paul' August 10th 1966. Has similarities here to John Halliday.

lol Strangely, that photo doesn't appear "normal". It reads exactly like a papparazzi shot of today. Like some papparazzo shot while walking backwards. Mary looks about as thrilled as modern-day papparazzi victims.

I realise this is an older topic, but I just wanted to clarify that this is a photo of George Harrison, his mum Louise, and his older brother Peter. It was taken in 1950.

Has this fellow resurfaced?
What if the rumor of (a) Paul running off with Sylvie Vartan (version 1.0) was a mixup - like in a game of telephone - and "ran off with Sylvie Vartan" turned into: "ran off with Johnny Halliday's wife"? Until 2011(?) maybe 200 people on the planet could positively pick this guy out by name, so it does not seem unlikely that the name would shift to someone familiar instead, as the rumor rolled on; someone known to have been publicly involved with the band.
I think he strongly resembles the Small Boy With Mary & Mike Paul and one of the Beatlemania-Era Pauls -- though, not the school photo Pauls, the Quarrymen/Berlin Pauls nor any post-Revolver Pauls.

Accompanying this woman on her journey down the rabbit hole is delightful.
