lol The Spirit of St Louis? I'll never tire of that “Listen, man, I might never write a book," Vadola says, "but give me anything with wheels or a motor and I'm all over it."
Vadola hopped in the boat, an eight-seat lake cruiser with an outboard motor, and he fired that heaven-sent ark to life. ;D
“I raced through the back streets, a scene out of a movie about another planet, and sped down Moreland Ave.," Vadola says. “People leaned and waved and yelled for help from top-floor windows and attics from almost every single house. I pulled up to Danny's house, and there he was, waving from the attic. There was a ladder in his driveway. His wife climbed down first and then the older kids, and then Danny handed us the baby. And then Danny came down. Everybody was freezing but safe on board, and I cruised up to Lincoln Ave., where dry land began.
They climbed out and thanked me, and I kept thinking about all those other trapped people."

Getting to the subject of the devastation of Sandy, they said because of all the crud that's still not hauled away, it's causing sickness.
It's the worst smell, I know firsthand of that "smell" and crud after water in my basement with the first flooding. The others were not as bad, because we were prepared, but the first was by far the most horrid smell...the sewer back up....that's all I'll say. The wet drywall, and other items causes mold, which the mold spores are bad to breathe in.
It's just the beginning of sorrows for those folks.
