oh! look who's seated at Mac's right hand and framed!
When shadows fall And trees whisper, "Day is ending", My thoughts are ever wending home. When crickets call, My heart is forever yearning Once more to be returning home.
"to proceed on," O.E. wendan "to turn, go," from P.Gmc. *wandijanan (cf. O.S. wendian, O.N. venda, O.Fris.
wenda, Du. wenden, Ger. wenden, Goth. wandjan "to turn"), causative of O.E. windan "to turn, twist" (see wind (v.)), from base *wand-, *wend- "turn." Surviving only in to wend one's way, and in hijacked past tense form went :D.
Kukulkán rises from the ground beneath the playing field
This morning the Governor Ivonne Ortega Pacheco announced through her Twitter account that the ex Beatle Paul McCartney will perform a concert in the exotic city of Chichen Itza this year.
As a part of a world tour, where the ex- Beatle will say good bye to the stages, Yucatan will be one of the seven cities in the world included in the good bye tour ;).
www.theyucatantimes.com/2012/01/paul-mccartney-will-rock-at-chichen-itza/ The governor points out later on in an interview that the negotiation is in its final stage, there is not a signed contract yet nor a date for the concert, nevertheless if the artist`s schedule if open on March 21 during the summer equinox ;)the state government will do the necessary adjustments to make it possible.
equinox: the center of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth's equator.
A corona is a type of plasma "atmosphere" of the Sun or other celestial body, extending millions of kilometers into space, most easily seen during a total solar eclipse, but also observable in a coronagraph. The Latin root of the word corona means crown.
One thing I had missed was the possible references to a World War 3, which the author points out in the pictures below:
"The number 3 on their apartment is a reference to a possible World War III..."
"Before Danny uses it to write Redrum on the door we see the subtle symbolism in Wendy’s inexplicably uncapped tube of lipstick (she’s not wearing any lipstick) looking exactly like a Russian ballistic missile..."
"and Danny’s toy tank that’s prominently placed on top of a purple book on the nightstand is also obvious."
The bloody scenes that follow in the movie could be symbolic of the carnage that would occur in the event of such a horrible event.
Fortunately, we've been spared that timeline of events, if the channelings of the Galactic Federation can be taken as valid. They repeatedly inform us that a World War 3 scenario will not be allowed.
Yes we're going to get it right this time, evidently, and 2012 will not be "the end" in the most Apocolyptical sense of that phrase. Rather, Ascension will be a significant motivator this year, according to the videos above. Funny thing; that is also 'shone' in the movie. (The ascension.) (Evidence to follow, as well as the Beatle parallels.)
If I'm not mistaken, it's a rather unflattering depiction of "the divine femiNINE", appearing a bit pathetic, perhaps, but carrying a BIG stick! And what is she doing here... when this picture was taken?
Leading a crazed, degenerate MAN kind, up the stairs. That's what!
Oh, I know it's not as pleasant a depiction of the divine feminine's efforts as - say - a song about ladders to the sky or something, but Kubrick may have been feeling a bit disappointed at how "well" we were doing as a species back in the late seventies.
Still, she 'won' in the end, you might say. But it's not a 'success'.
Mr. Ullman bears some resemblance to JFK. He has an eagle on his window sill, and mentions that the Overlook may have been built on an Indian burial ground. Wendy wears red, white, and blue in many of the scenes. Danny wears the sweater featuring an Apollo 11 depiction. The Apollo 11 mission ("the first moon landing") in particular, was a source of pride for the USA.
These characters represent the innocent faith Americans had in their country in the post WW2 era, imo. Even Jack wasn't such a bad guy when we first see him. The devious things that were hidden away behind the scenes, like CIA operations, and phoney moon landings didn't become apparent 'til later, and Kubrick apparently knew this would happen, which, I think, is why he portrayed Horace Derwent with a George Bush Sr. look-alike. (Perhaps a representation of the coming "fall of the USSR" with a bear 'servicing' the CIA's top guy at the time, George Bush Sr.)
Jack unwittingly sells his soul to the devil, but even he finds the situation puzzling as things move deeper and deeper into craziness. At a wild party in theGOLDroom, he tries to buy a drink, only told to be told, "Your money is no good here".
"And in a final stroke of brilliance, Kubrick physically melds the movie audience leaving his film with the ghostly revelers in the photograph. As the credits roll, the soundtrack ends, and we hear the 1920s audience applaud, and then the gabble of that audience talking among themselves - the same sound the crowd of moviegoers itself is probably making as it leaves the theater.
It is the sound of people moving out of one stage of consciousness into another. The moviegoers are largely unaware of this soundtrack, and this reflects their unawareness that they've just seen a movie about themselves, about what people like them have done to the American Indian and to others. Thus to its very last foot, this film is trying to break through the complacency of its audience, to tell it, "You were, are, the people at the Overlook Ball."
The opening music, over the traveling aerial shots of a tiny yellow Volkswagon penetrating the magnificent American wilderness, is the "Dies Irae" ("Day of Wrath"), part of the major funeral mass of the European Roman Catholic Church. This movie is a funeral, among other things. And it was Hitler's Germany, another genocidal culture, that first produced the Volkswagen. At the end of the movie, in the climactic chase in the Overlook Maze, the moral maze of America and of all mankind in which we are chased by the sins of our fathers ("Danny, I'm coming. You can't get away. I'm right behind you"), the little boy Danny escapes by retracing his own steps (an old Indian trick) and letting his father blunder past.""
All is not lost, however, and iameye appears to think the nation's birthday may be cause for celebration this year. We'll see.
"Indian artwork appear throughout the movie in wall hangings, carpets, architectural details and even the Colorado state flag. Yet we never meet an actual Indian. But we do get to know, and like, and then see murdered, a powerful black character, Chef Hallorann -- the only person to die in the film other that the protagonist, villain and victim, Jack. The murdered black man lies across a large Indian design on the floor"
Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far. Shine on you crazy diamond. Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there. Shine on you crazy diamond. And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, sail on the steel breeze. Come on you boy child, you winner and loser, come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine
Usually, when we hear or read something new,
we just compare it to our own ideas.
If it is the same, we accept it and say that it is correct.
If it is not, we say it is incorrect.
In either case, we learn nothing.
