Jewelry Stores often talk about Diamonds having Brilliance, Sparkle and Fire! Most can understand Brilliance and Sparkle... But Fire? What the heck is Fire in a Diamond? Is the Diamond really on Fire? No! Fire is just a play of light.Think about washing your car. When the rays of sun hit the stream of water, what happens? You see a rainbow of colors. Those bright flashes of color is what we refer to as "fire" in a Diamond. Fire is Color! Just look at any rainbow and you'll see the beautiful color effects. www.jewelry-secrets.com/Diamonds/Diamond-Fire-Dispersion/What-Is-Diamond-Fire-Dispersion.htmllol and the fireman rushes in from the pouring reign

Oh cool, they're getting the party ready www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16937308The event, which is a joint venture between the BBC and Gary Barlow, will take place near the Queen Victoria Memorial, in front of Buckingham Palace. victoria GENDER: Feminine USAGE: English, Spanish, Romanian, Late Roman PRONOUNCED: vik-TAWR-ee-ə (English) [key] Meaning & History Feminine form of VICTORIUS, though later it was regarded as coming directly from Latin victoria meaning "victory". It was borne by a 4th-century saint and martyr from North Africa. Though in use elsewhere in Europe, the name was very rare in the English-speaking world until the 19th century, when Queen Victoria began her long rule of Britain. The Victoria Memorial is a sculpture in London, placed at the centre of Queen's Gardens in front of Buckingham Palace and dedicated to Queen Victoria. The Memorial was dedicated in 1911 by George V and his first cousin, Wilhelm II of Germany, the two senior grandsons of Victoria. The sculptor was Sir Thomas Brock. It was completed with the installation of the final bronze statues in 1914. The surround was constructed by the architect Sir Aston Webb, from 2,300 tons of white marble. It is a Grade I listed building. It has a large statue of Queen Victoria facing north-eastwards towards The Mall. The other sides of the monument feature dark patinated bronze statues of the Angel of Justice (facing north-westwards toward Green Park), the Angel of Truth (facing south-eastwards) and Charity facing Buckingham Palace. On the pinnacle is a statue of unclear entitlement and arguably relating both to 'Peace' and to 'Victory', with two seated figures (the subsidiary figures were given by the people of New Zealand), this being a design which is evidently intended to be related to both the Greek Winged Victory and to the Russian 19th Cent. Alexander Column (the latter being itself related, after the Napoleonic wars, to other 19th Cent. monuments within France) as confirmed within the official records of her change of name upon accession to the throne, the name provided immediately below the statue being VICTORIA in one line followed by REGINA IMPERATRIX (see photograph of front of memorial within the Gallery in this article).[1]. The whole sculpture has a nautical theme, much like the rest of the mall (Admiralty Arch etc.). This can be seen in the mermaids, mermen and a hippogriff, all of which are suggestive of the United Kingdom's naval power.

In ancient Roman religion, Victoria was the personified goddess of victory. She is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Nike, and was associated with Bellona. She was adapted from the Sabine agricultural goddess Vacuna and had a temple on the Palatine Hill. The goddess Vica Pota was also sometimes identified with Victoria. Unlike the Greek Nike, Victoria (Latin for "victory") was a major part of Roman society. Multiple temples were erected in her honor. When her statue was removed in 382 CE by emperor Gratianus there was much anger in Rome. She was normally worshipped by triumphant generals returning from war. Also unlike the Greek Nike, who was known for success in athletic games such as chariot races, Victoria was a symbol of victory over death and determined who would be successful during war. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_(mythology)like a flower

"The whole sculpture has a nautical theme, much like the rest of the mall (Admiralty Arch etc.). This can be seen in the mermaids, mermen and a hippogriff, all of which are suggestive of the United Kingdom's naval power." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HippogriffA Hippogriff (also spelled Hippogryph and Hippogryphe, Italian: Ippogrifo) is a legendary creature, supposedly the offspring of a griffin and a mare. The reason for its great rarity is that griffins regard horses as prey. It has been suggested this idea was strong enough in medieval times to produce an expression, "to mate griffins with horses", which meant about the same as the modern expression, "When pigs fly". The hippogriff was therefore a symbol of impossibility and love. The hippogriff, in legends is said to be far faster, stronger and more intelligent than their fathers, the griffin, apparently traveling at the "speed of lightning". No empty fiction wrought by magic lore, But natural was the steed the wizard pressed; For him a filly to griffin bore; Hight hippogryph. In wings and beak and crest, Formed like his sire, as in the feet before; But like the mare, his dam, in all the rest. Such on Riphaean hills, though rarely found, Are bred, beyond the frozen ocean's bound.

The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings--And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings."
