I'm not talking about a one world gov't, i'm try to say if the destiny of this world is in the hands of one man (the US president), why the whole world cannot choose that man? Ya, I knew what ya meant. I didn't think you were talkin' about a one world gov't, I just wanted to make sure nobody else thought that was what we were talkin' about.

Danger, danger... I found a politics thread....
The problem is giving too much power to a single party. It's bad if the only choice you have is either vote for black or white. Too much power to a single party (person) makes them to be easily corrupted. But if you had, say, 2 main parties (cause you'll always have 2 main parties no matter what) but 3 or 4 smaller parties, with mixed ideas, and to be in charge that black/white party had to use the smaller ones to get "alliances" with, you would get diversity in opinions... and that can never be bad. I don't know If I explained the idea clearly. (kinda sleepy here today).

I was watchin' a speech on C-Span by the guy who wrote "Screwed" (about the war on the middle-class) He was sayin' that the fathers of the constitution didn't want 3rd parties to get involved because that was anti-democratic. Say 40% vote A, 30% vote B, & the independent gets 30%. The ruling party has only 40% support...& a minority rules.
I never really thought about it that way before.

LJ, when it comes to politics I vote person, not party. It's too bad that we can't just get rid of the whole "party" system. There should be a select number of candidates who run under platforms of their choosing. That way, you can vote for the person who's platform you want to see come in.
Just a thought.

Maybe, if you can get this 60% (B+independients) together running in one direction yes.
