Wonder how long this will last...

*tsk* someone has a big mouth, yes. Well you know how it is, you forget the default is guests can post when you make a new board. About the chat room, sorta forgot about it to be honest. Hmm..I'm kinda curious as to what sort of comedy might find its way to this section.. ;D If the other mods don't mind, let's leave it alone for a bit.. Put a quarter in the jukebox and smokem if ya gottem..

I... think... you'll be sorry Guest board attracts... trolls So? Then title it "Teh Troll's Bridge", and let come what may. Either do a twice week, complete, automatic purge of everything there, or, if there is some feature of Proboards that allows it, set a maximum number of posts that it would hold at anyone time, say twenty or so. Once twenty one posts is reached, it would kick out post number one, and so on, the same way that the "latest 50 posts" feature works. So, if something atrocious appears, it'll automatically be swept out like "water under the Troll Bridge". OK, not genius for sure, maybe not even wise, but, it is AN idea, nonetheless. Of course, it would flush out all the posts, the bad AND the good, but in doing so might serve to help identify and re-route the unpleasant seepage downriver.

See, with an open stream, you can have a good logging expedition if needed, catch my drift? By logging the current IP's of badgers or flamers, the mod's wood keep the boards flowing. Forgive my sophomoric wordplay. I know that bad puns are punishable by either: up to 50 groans per offence (think of the ugly soundtrack I'd face in Pun Hell), or orthodontic torture at the hands od Dr. Hans Slip*, but I'll guess I'll just have to floss that bridge when I gum to it. GRADE: D- Poor, needs improvement. Rambling, pointless. Dear Mrs. Perplexed, ma'am, about your son Johnny, well, as far as his writing skills go, well, he is in a class of his own. That's cause we separated him from the whole rest of the school 'cause frankly nobody knew what to do with him, and truthfully, we can't have his meandering incoherence infect the kids in the other classes. Why don't you change schools, or better still, move to another state or country and start all over again? Your truly, The Nebraskasota Bored of Education Ibid: pg 30-42, "Annals of Doctoral Slippage in Central Mid-West" from "Duke's Peerage", 9th Edition, Unedited and uncorroborated. *See above: Dr. Hans Slip, infamous for teaching Lawrence Olivier everything he needed to know while preparing for the movie "The Marathon Man". His equally notorious sibling is brother Dr. Ian Slip, psychological programmer, tormenter, and protege of the infamous Dr. Green. When asked how they both achieved such medical notoriety so quickly, and so heinously, Ian let slip, "Well, we both skipped over quite a few degrees." "Nonsense, Ian", retorted Hans, "Want to know how I really pulled it off? My success came from the slick way I handled the oral drills; I mortified all of my teachers during my exams. They were enameled by the way I polished off my finals; by graduation, they were really rooting for me. Rooting for me to go out into the world and scream, "HI, GENE!"...... There was a hold up or two, I hadn't pleased the review board or paid my tuition, but I got the Dean in my chair and used a little of my special pull to get a diploma." I shan't regale everyone now with stories of the other brother, the French loan officer, dePausette Slip. Another day, another bridge.

We just know he was replaced. Beyond that, it's pure speculation. That new album sure sounds like Billy had some help from JPM in one form or another.... who knows. hey... does that chatroom even work? It doesn't look like it's workin' to me.

Is this thread as slow for everybody else as it is for me? I've got a jet-powered-zippy-fast machine (using IE), but it sure doesn't like this thread with the music box.
Thanks for the tunes tho! I love Evolution5 & The End Megamix.... they fit right in to my avant-garde-weird-totally-screwed-up playlist. Great stuff.! (as is everything else on my avant-garde-weird-totally-screwed-up playlist!)

Eyesbleed, you need to have Java installed for the chat room to work. java.com/en/download/index.jspAnyway, that darned music box is a resource hog, so I moved it yet again to its own place. Doc, there is no way that I know of to auto purge the posts, just have to moderate the old fashioned way.

1 + 1 + 1 = 3! That's 1 less than 4, the number of Beatles that were left after Paul was replaced. But now if you take 4 and subtract 1, then add 1, you get 4! (The question is if that 1 is really a negative 1 or a positive, because if it's a negative, because (as it were) Paul was a positive to Bill the negative. So then you really have only 2 Beatles left.
Now take three 1's (or Beatles) and add 3, then subtract four and you get 2! Add three that you added and the four that you subtracted, plus the 2 and it's number 9! Where have I heard that one before? Why the "McCartney" name has 9 letters!
Now, if we substract two from 9, it makes 7! As in 007, James Bond! But since the double 00 isn't counted since it represents the glasses on the guy on the white album. But just count the 7. Therefore we can conclude the replacement's last name has seven letters!
Now, how many letters does "Sum King" have? Do you see a pattern here? That's right, I am the Walrus!

Those funeral bells at the beginning of John's "Mother" could be for his Mother (obvious), the Beatles (possibly) or even James Paul McCartney (strrrrrretch). Who's to know?
Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It trolls for thee.

Agree with all of the above Shadow. I've thought about doing it for a while now, but never quite got around to broaching the subject with the others. So, I made one by accident, hah. Turns out it might be entertaining. Peatle Baul, I know you don't approve, just don't make one on your own board.. (if you have one that is..)

There is one thing I can add to this...
There is a board that JoJo and Spanky both know about, GLP, if it hadn't been for guest posting there I would have remained forever a lurker and I have lurked on many boards in the last nine years. Lurking and reading but too skittish to join and make that first post.
I won't say there is no potential for trolls and flamers but the board's staff does have to option to delete any offensive posts at will or even shut down guest posting outright.
