Fred LaBour, if you might remember, is the guy who wrote a column about PID for the University of Michegan's student newspape when he was in college. On October 14, 1969, Fred LaBour, entertainment reviewer for the University of Michigan student newspaper The Michigan Daily, turned his assigned review of the new Beatles album, Abbey Road into a piece headlined "McCartney Dead; New Evidence Brought to Light." In the article, LaBour reported about many musical "clues" and added several of his own. He also speculated the name "William Campbell" as Paul's "replacement." This finally causes the mainstream press to take note. When contacted by other media outlets and pressed further about the issue, LaBour eventually declares the rumor to be a joke. I have always thought LaBour's big mistake was trying to fill in missing gaps with his own ideas (which were unsubstantiated). Once he did that and the mainstream media caught him on it, then then he cracked under pressure and the whole story of PID was then declared a hoax. Anyway, so where is Fred LaBour now? He is playing upright bass with a group called Riders In The Sky, and his nickname is "Too Slim" ( today's he's telling people Paul is alive and none different). Maybe someone can catch him on tour and talk with him if you have a chance. Here's the band's website: www.ridersinthesky.com/

from facebook:"Though Paul McCartney is ailing with a nasty virus in Japan at the moment, in 1969 he was allegedly DEAD! And Fred "Too Slim" LaBour, a student at the U. of Michigan back then, had A LOT to do with those "Paul is Dead" clues we've come to know over the years! Fred joins us live on this Friday's program 7-8 PM EDT. wrkc.kings.edu "

I had the same thought, hotman637. And isn't that interesting? Because if the Beatles were following Crowley's advice to incorporate irrefutable evidence of foreknowledge of events to show that one is a master of reality, then Faul posing as LaBour a year before he came on the scene is pretty impressive.
