An ol' bud of mine dropped off a dvd for me called Fun With The Fab Four. There's plenty of stuff on here that I've seen, but there's some other stuff I haven't seen. It's mostly various news conferences & stuff like that.
Chapter 2 has Pete Best on the old show To Tell The Truth, with Gary Moore... Or was it What's My Line?
Of course his big secret was that he used to be a Beatle! (as the audience Gasps)
In chapter 3 there's a German show... kind of like a teen Q&A thing with The Beatles sitting onstage answering questions. One of the questions was "Will you go along with any change in taste of popular music?"
Paul sez ".......we probably will change a little. But we wouldn't do anything drastic, like with a big band or anything like that; coz that's not our kind of music."
(as Paul answers, there's an assortment of later, drastically different "Beatles" images flashing on the screen..... too funny.)
In chapter 8 there's a news conference from 65 & they are asking The Beatles about their stocks, & then ask if they would ever have their own label to buy stock in, & John butts in & sez "Oh we'd NEVER start our own label. It's too much trouble, you know."
But my favorite part of this dvd is chapter 9 with the Minneapolis police guy discussing, in a local TV news conference, the trouble they had with The Beatles,,, or, at least Paul Mccartney!
Apparently there was a midnight cerfew, & when the police broke up the crowd of fans, they learned of a girl who was inside the motel.... (my how things change in 40yrs). So the cop is goin' on about it.. "We completely shook down the 5th floor where The Beatles were staying. One of the group became very indignant & told us they'd never come to Minneapolis again. They were very irrate about the cerfew enforcement & couldn't understand why our bars close at 1am."
"We had no trouble with 3 of The Beatles because they had gone back to the hotel, had a lunch & went right to bed. We did however, have a reporting of a girl in one of the rooms. That of a Paul McCartney. We did get the manager of the Beatle troupe to announce himself & tell him that the girl would have to leave or we would have to force entry into the room."
So I guess the police had nothing better to do back then? That scene just cracks me up every time.
Then chapter 11 has that silly Shakespeare spoof they were in. I guess that was a Brittish TV show or something.
Over & out
