OK, this seems like a more appropriate spot for this ol' stuff than "Off Topic". I'll just put all my Beatle-related stuff here together. I feel like I should have a new one done by now, but it's been crazy around here lately... no time or energy left for my stuff. But hopefully I'll have a new one before too much longer. (it'll be pre-67 Paul & John, but I haven't decided which pics to work from yet) Here's the original Beatles set. Each painting is 2 feet by 3 feet. And the collage from the above And of course my favorite... Dead Paul Old Paul This is 4 feet by 2.5 feet & hanging over my sofa

Is this your own work eyesbleed? These are really fantasitc! I never was worth a darn with a paint brush, so I just have to do my best to paint them in my mind by playing and singing their music on my guitars and keyboard.

Thanks! I gather ya didn't find this stuff in the other forum. XPT, & LJ, & Spanky don't have to twist my arm very hard to get me to post them over here. I'm easy. In case yer wonderin', the beatles set of 4 paintings were done 10yrs ago. I was all inspired after seeing "Paul" at the Astrodome. (3rd row center). Dead Paul Old Paul is my newest one.... it's only a few months old. I figured that since my brain was stuck on PID 24-7, I might as well do a painting. Well, anyway.... thanks again y'all.

eysbleed, are we neighbors? I live near Conroe (north side of Houston) We're not too close of neighbors coz I'm way out west in Odessa/Midland. A good 9hr drive. My mom's in Katy, & I've got an aunt near Conroe, so I'm in yer neighborhood occationally.

OMG, what if we are related? HAHAHA! I have relatives in Midland/Odessa as well! Standing offer though, when you come to visit your mom in Katy, if you'd care to try out some of my home brew, we should get together and throw back a few and talk about art and music

Unfinished painting deleted!
Holy crap.... now I'm just a bit embarrassed. After correcting some stuff with John tonight, I realized just how much of a problem I still had with this.
I worked on it for 12hrs or so last saturday until I was nuts.... I was apparently still nuts from all that last sunday when I posted.
Sorry! False alarm.......

Their faces have soul in them. as you have painted them. Your a master, sir. I enjoy seeing your style of painting. And its very cool to see Lennon, and Paul presented that way. Excellent, sir.

eyesbleed, pardon my asking. Maybe I'm getting too far sighted.
In the image of Paul in the spotlight behind John there, Paul seems to me to have been rendered as older than his twenties. The smile lines are indeed heavy, the eyes deep and dark, the chin and jawline rounder, heavier as a man who is settling in a bit. Forgive these observations if that was not your intent----its as if it is a surviving, older Paul. Am I seeing it all wrong?

I see what you mean Doc, yes. We may have an age enhanced pic of Paul here... If that's not your intent, it may have turned out that way... And maybe here an idea for another painting.

The smile lines are indeed heavy, the eyes deep and dark, the chin and jawline rounder, heavier as a man who is settling in a bit. Forgive these observations if that was not your intent----its as if it is a surviving, older Paul. Am I seeing it all wrong? Hey man.... ask whatever, that's cool. That's interesting coz it wasn't intentional, & I haven't noticed that, but I see what ya mean. Even tho I was working from one pic, I thought I'd screw around with it & try to have Paul appearing from another dimension, or something. So I treated the shading & everything else differently on Paul. I gave Paul a much more intense shading as if there was a spotlight on him & not John. So that's why he looks older to ya, even tho I haven't interpreted it that way yet. ....Duhh, after 11hrs of running up & down a 10ft ladder, I was too brain-dead to do much more than state the obvious in this post last night. But it's those deep.intense shadows that make him look older. Especially the mouth area. That definantly looks like an old mans mouth... now that ya mention it! FYI...here's the pic I worked from

Oh man.... first, I couldn't get that new painting resolved, & once I did, I had hell getting it to look right online.... But I think I finally got it.. Now I can finally send it out to here & there..!
While I was at it, I noticed that I did a rather crappy job on the Dead Paul scan, so I fixed it. Much better. That got me started, so I worked on the Beatles set images also. Those look much better now.

eyesbleed---you were true to the picture. whaddo I know? You are right on target. Well I don't know about that. The dumb John & Paul painting always bugged the crap outta me. It's rare that I'm really unhappy with a painting, but that was the case here. But I re-worked that bugger last weekend & I've finally got it to a place where I really like it. So...... YET AGAIN.... the unveiling of the new John & Paul painting!

Thanks y'all... as always. I've had the improved image up as my wallpaper for 3 days now & it still looks good so I think it really is finished this time. I got another old painting that I had to literally repaint coz it was hanging in a salon & an extra messy night crew somehow managed to splatter it with floor wax. So yea.... that's fixed, JohnandPaul's fixed, & I got Leona's Powerpuff Girls painting done. Now I can move on to something new finally.

Those are great EB! I am just another who loves your paintings. I like the bullseye(is that right?) effect on the John and Paul painting. Did you ever think about doing a painting of Jane Asher crying with Paul in the picture? ;D
