1988...At about 1:06 Ringo says there used to be 4 and motions around the stage and says what's on stage is all that's left. At about 2:23 George says he and Ringo are representing the Beatles but on stage is all that's left, then at about 2:28 George says we all lovED John and we lovED Paul. If Sir Faul is really Paul, why didn't George say we love Paul instead of lovED. Big difference guys. rockhall.com/inductees/the-beatles/video/2440/rockhall.com/inductees/the-beatles/video/2440/

I like Iamaphoney's dramatization of it. I'm not sure that GH uses the past tense, though maybe his tone of voice indicates that he means to use the past tense. I think it's a close call as to whether he sticks his tongue through his lips in order to complete the past tense "d" sound after love.
It's sobering to think that kingdoms might rise and fall over this issue.

It's hard to stand here representing the Beatles when this is all that's left.

It's hard to stand here representing the Beatles when this is all that's left. What he actually says is, "It's hard, really, to stand here...supposedly representing the Beatles...what's left, I'm afraid..."

Seems like a cloaked statement to me. Maybe. The thing that gets me is George at 26,27,28 says they lovED John and they lovED Paul not love Paul. When a person is dead it is very common for people to say "boy we really lovED that guy" not "boy we really loVE that guy". If McFartney is really Paul, What? he and Ringo don't love him anymore? George very clearly puts ED on love in both cases with John and Paul.
