But it may come in chunks, in bits and pieces, tonight, because, well, I dunno, I am out of practice but I suddenly remembered our fair topic. Or was it unfair?
I never meant to be "unfair" as fair goes; merely to explore the possibilities of an old topic; a topic from my childhood...... And as I turn 60 years of age tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25th, 2017; as I reach the age that I always wondered, "will I make it to 60"?" and I have had all these topics to weigh on my mind off and on for so long, I had to "come back around" and converse a little bit with the great people here that began and continued one of those topics; which have become several topics over the course of 14 or 15 years..... anyway, I start with a simple Hello to all.....

So I watched the FX mini-series, "Feud; Bette Davis and Joan Crawford." I watched all 8 episodes completely; it ended tonight. I wept over some of the scenes.
Yes I can be a whining crybaby when I watch a soap opera, but this was more. It was more than a soap opera; it succeeded in giving a fair account of all the things that transpired between Davis and Crawford thru-out their careers, especially their "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" time and beyond. The show's creator and producer, Ryan Murphy, was thorough and I believe, fair in his creation of this tale. Most of the details I had heard or read about, but in the presentation, one begins to see the cause of the so - called feud, why it flared against Ms. Crawford so badly, how it all ended.
So much of show business is likely to generate feuds like this, and feuds which, on the right mellow evening sometime down the pike, would lead the participants in the"feud" to want to end it, to ask forgiveness, to swear friendship and kindness from then on, if only it could be, if only it could be.....
I've been in a couple of those myself, though I am not famous (nor wish to be) and neither was my, uhm, partner in the situation..... But it made me feel great empathy for Bette, especially for Joan, for Jack Warner, Hedda Hopper, and on and on: we humans are so small, weak, and delicate, really, we are not supreme gods of mayhem or mischief (thought we are FULL of mischief) but we are not generally capable of supreme evil/'hatred/viciousness...... we feel hate for a time and then we regret it...we feel bitchiness and competitiveness for a decade or two, maybe three, and then our bodies feel exhausted for having hosted such ill will for so long, it weakens us further, we want to recant, we ant to make it all right and good, we want to have a vacation from our resentments and smile on our old enemy and make it all go away; give them solace and take for ourselves peace and a kind of "quietness" of spirit where we can rest and sleep and go on and do good for our friends and neighbors.......... was it the world that "made us bad", was it an early insecurity that drove us to conflict? Was it an ill temper we got from mother or father or Aunt Louise? Were we "the bad seed" or were we victims of our own ambition and covetousness? I dunno......
I dunno but most of us fall victim to it, to this thing, to ourselves........ May there be peace on Earth soon.....

We solved all the mysteries while you were gone, so if you have any questions.... And yes, I moved your post, so I hope you find it! More people will see it here.

Hiya Doc! Nice to hear from you. Hope you pop back regularly.
'Imagine' if life was a dress rehearsal and thru the years of life we took really good notes along the way. - column A: ok decision - column B: not so ok
And then, with notes in hand, went back and and started over from early on.
It would be interesting.
However, didn't someone familiar say - 'life is what happens while you're making other plans'?
One of the best things a younger one can do is look to someone that has more experience thru the years and learn some things from them. Let them know ya can't really rewind the tape.
(and they would respond 'tape, what's a tape?')

I tried to reach Doc at his email, to tell him to come look at your replies, but the one he listed here is no longer valid. Perhaps he'll come take a look before more years pass.

Aha! www.cdbaby.com/Artist/RobertStrickland"Robert Strickland is a pianist, arranger, musical director, and sometimes conductor, in the Atlanta, GA. area for the past 40 years. In a fit of venting a creative spirit, Robert created this happy, bright, tuneful, jazzy, sometimes "rock-'n-roll", sometimes symphonic, but (bit) of CD writing and arranging. He has played for numerous folks thruout America. He has played with the Atlanta Symphony behind Michael Feinstein and many others." Thanks Michelle!
