It's not that it's unanswerable, TheDeceptionist, it's that it's---sorry---a stupid question. It's just a style, the flashing images. It's the way he, she, or they has decided to make videos. And every now and then you'll see one that doesn't have flashing imagery, so you can't say he's a one-trick pony. There's really no particular reason behind it, so why ask?
You are, beyond a shadow of doubt, a complete moron. What flavor was the kool-aid?

No, and I've never seen that as an add-on. Usenet dwellers call that a "kill file". Probably beyond the scope of a Java script, would have be done by Proboards itself no doubt.. Sorry, I have wished for such a feature myself at times, although I guess I'm supposed to read everything anyway.. No, never heard of this, or know what it means, sorry about that. I can tell you that (not surprisingly) both of those IP addresses are from Denmark. www.db.ripe.net/whois?form_type=simple&full_query_string=&searchtext=80.163.26.172&do_search=Search

Just admit it is all a scam and your in on it. Is this rotten apple stuff sombodies lavish revenge plot over the split that happened in PID? Is Sunking Iamphoney? With RA, someone could single handedly build up legitimacy while messing with many minds. And all the loyal lap dogs can come here and sculpt it up, while secrectly laughing at the game being played? Maybe some of these IAAP followers are all one person with several user accounts. Did you not see the Don Knotts subliminals? He is a 17 year old kid, how do you expect him to act? well how would you act if hardly anybody does anything to help? so i said fine then don't complain.

Hey Jude (couldn't resist)...don't let Iameye under your skin. <grin>
She is a very harsh bully at times, and she obviously has fairly serious issues, but she is smart and entertaining.
I have enjoyed reading your posts a great deal. Please keep expressing your opinions.

I don't think the question is stupid at all....although I think your response to it... certainly is. I too...want to know why IAAP is dropping in blatant 'alpha' pattern stimuli fairly regularly.....and no, I don't think that it is just a 'style'. So....

Well if you're requesting an ignore function simply because I called the question stupid, then shouldn't you chill out? Why is it that any time I respond to someone, it's seen as "carrying on"? Carrying on what? This talk about there being a specific reason behind the flashing imagery is utter nonsense. It's a video editing technique--a clever trick devised to fill the head with wonder and fear. Iamaphoney had made 40 videos using the old standbys of creepy music, reversals, and shock imagery. It was time for a new tactic.
So sorry, iameye, if you thought there was something more clever to it. Since day one the flashing imagery has been nothing but one collossal mind fuck of a way to keep you on your toes, and to convey information that IAAP didn't know how to convey otherwise. I've run into the same brick wall time and time again myself: I have tons of "clues" to share with you all. But I'm not going to share them unless I know I can safely come across as more than just a blathering fool. Rather Unfresh Apple 4 was on the back burner for weeks before I devised a suitable way in which I could share those reverse clues with the world. Iamaphoney is no different. He's constantly challenging himself to be more creepy, more arcane than ever before. These "mind fuck" tactics may not be popular with everyone, but they keep people on their toes, watching to see when he'll reveal more.

Of all the videos I have made in the last six months, this still seems to be most popular among my subscribers:
I've been told that the moment Paul says "I myself am thirty" sends chills down the spine. But does it really? Please, watch Magical Mystery Tour and tell me if there's really anything creepy about Paul when says that line. There isn't, is there? So I echoed the phrase three or four times, threw "Can You Take Me Back" in there, overlapped it with "I'll Follow The Sun", and made Paul's voice really deep and slow. Follow that with an image of wholesome, honest-looking JPM and PRESTO---movie magic, baby. What was now a clue that I could have rather mundanely shared with people on a message board, I turned into something that could be etched into people's brains.....which is exactly what Iamaphoney intends to do with every single video he makes.
I've just deconstructed one of my videos. If there's any trickery in the art of how I make videos, then I'm not ashamed of it. Now I challenge everyone to deconstruct Iamaphony's[/i]: look beyond the veil and realise that, regardless of whether or not he's going to reveal something, he's still a director and he's desperate to keep your attentions.
EDIT: But iameye and horseloversphat, I'm sure, given your vast intellects, that you knew all of that already. You're ever so right--what a "stupid" answer.

Just watched this again Jude . . . . I'm not trying to butter you up but you YOURSELF are an excellent producer/editor. I've enjoyed them from when I first discovered they were there. Sorry, I must be really shallow, but I just take the videos from IAAP and just thoroughly enjoy watching them and sometimes stopping them a gillion times trying to capture every in them. And ! the MUSIC - great stuff. So if that is being shallow, then that is what I am.

I agree that Iameye's original question should be submitted.
Phoney should be given the opportunity to address the question of possible subliminal undertones within his work, as a consequence of the flash imagery & backmasking techniques employed.
Errmm., Why does the conversation keep going back to arse grapes, btw?

Errmm., Why does the conversation keep going back to arse grapes, btw? It happens when people tell each other their ideas are stupid, or when someone calls someone an inflammatory name, or otherwise directly stomps on their thought processes with no regard to their feelings. Challenging an idea is good. Presenting a countering idea is good. Gently pointing out inconsistencies in logic is good. Personal attacks are not good. -j

Did you not see the Don Knotts subliminals? mindgames, what do you think about YouKnowMyName231's series of videos? ----- To the forum, chalk me up as one who doesn't think that iameye and horseloverphat's proposed question is stupid. I understand where they're coming from and perhaps the question needs work, it is more a probing type of question. There really is no way someone can catch all the rapid-fire frames while watching under normal conditions, so why do it? Are they intentionally going for the subliminal, targeting the subconscious, or is it just a matter of cosmetic style. And it does elicit frustration from some in the YouTube peanut gallery. Didn't we just have someone post a backwards message from Memory Almost Full, JoJo posted it, right? That video was presented in a way that was more straightforward and not as confusing as IAAP can be. I think that is what some people would prefer from IAAP, but I understand that it just might be a style choice. People who like to bash IAAP, go check out YouKnowMyName's video series and report back on what you think. That series is just as interesting yet it has far fewer viewers.

Did you read my last two posts (Replies #176 and #178)?
Take my word for it, it's a style choice. Six months of working on PID videos in my spare time has made me wise to many of IAAP's tricks. Often times "revelation" takes a back seat to presentation. There is such a huge emotional investment in the Rotten Apple series, and why? Because he has scared the shit out of us, and caused us to take the time pause frequently and examine the images that he throws at us left and right. And we keep coming back for more. Every time someone posts an image they found hidden in a Rotten Apple video, everytime there's a "A-HA!" moment, this series becomes more and more dear to it's fans. As an entertainer, Iamaphoney has us right in the palms of his hand, and it's in no small part due to the fast paced video editing style he has employed since RA 40. Do you think Iamaphoney really thinks he can hypnotise anyone with subliminal imagery? For images to be considered remotely subliminal they have to appear at a much faster rate than IAAP is making them appear in his videos.
The question was "Why do you continually employ fast, subliminal imagery in your videos?", and it's a waste of question in my honest opinion. Because the answer is going to be, more or less, "Because it looks cool, and it grabs your attention".
