It's that time again. December 8th, that is, and rather than post something depressing I thought I'd share a quick story regarding the ten-minute silent vigil . It was a cold day in New York. It was mostly sunny. When the vigil began , it started to snow. Really hard. It felt very peaceful. When the piano notes of "Imagine" broke the moment of silence, the sun broke through the clouds and the colors were amazing. At least one New York newspaper mentioned this at the time. I think I still have it somewhere. I think everyone had the same impression in their hearts and minds regarding the weather that day. Despite our own collective heartbreak, John was sending a signal that all was well. Peace.

Great story, although Yoko once wrote a pretty song ( !) called "Snow is Falling". (Not to be confused with, "Don't worry Kyoko, Mom's only looking for her hand in the snow" - or something like that.)

We had a silent vigil back then, I was a freshman at a little college in western NH, but there was a huge crowd in front of the library to pay their respects.
Yoko said something about "seeing John's face in the clouds" which struck me afterward because I always swore I saw the same thing near the end. OK, I know most would say it was my imagination conjuring that, and perhaps it's so, but that's what I saw..

I found this at the Sea of Green. It was taken at the Dakota, the day after John was killed:

Yesterday, I was flipping channels at a time that I don't usually watch TV. I was surprised to see an episode of American Justice, about Mark David Chapman & his role in John's death. I hadn't realized that it was indeed December 8th. I found it quite amusing that his defense attorney mentioned that he had developed an affection for MDC. I still think that he was a mind controlled slave, and he was triggered to do what he did. They did mention that MDC had his "demons" exorcised by a Baptist Minister sometime in 1989 (?). Before that, he would go into his own world for months at a time, while sometimes speaking demonically. I wonder what those "voices" in his head, and on his tongue, really were ? I believe that he did indeed hear voices. I'm just not convinced that they were demonic in nature. That poor man. He's just a stooge for the Powers That Be.
