Kind of interesting that Rear Window is about a man with a broken leg (King Kill) who is vicariously trying to investigate what may or may not be a murder (sound familiar) meanwhile underneath the apt. in question, Ms. Lonely Heart is about to commit suicide but is saved by the music being played next door by the musician who has been providing the soundtrack for the whole film, as he finishes composing "Mona Lisa" in reference to the painting by code-happy Leonardo Di Vinci. And they call the Sgt. of the police dept. to intervene on Ms. Lonely Heart's behalf.

I don't see how the plot of this film, as nebulous as it was, is any better or worse than any other ideas presented by other individuals anywhere else at any time. Nor did I feel an attempt was being made to persuade others of their ideas. In fact, I tip my hat to the director for leaning on symbolism and open-interpretion suggestion rather than overt depiction. For instance, it is when Paul looks in the mirror that he sees the 'William' figure. Is he also the caped man? Is he in league with Dr. Ascher? Can't tell. Paul draws the portal on the mirror, nice touch. And I love that the pastor and 'William' were played by the same guy (Hollback). And it seems to me like the MK-ing (or whatever it might be) was happening before the tour. Beginning in the fall of '65. Notice the autumnal setting when he finds the open book in the park and is captured by two men, then given his lip scar. (And perhaps that wasn't even the beginning of it). "...disinformation, promoting a notion held by people who weren't there" "There seems to be a group of individuals eager to demonstrate to the world that Paul is dead or replaced, and they make their 'case' with blinders firmly in place, and their minds made up about who was responsible."To be fair, this is how I would describe every attempt to demonstrate Paul is dead or replaced. Not saying he wasn't , but has anyone who was there ever made a demonstration? Although I felt the depiction of McCartney was quite poor, I still give the film a B (no pun intended). No "this is definitely what happened", nice symbolism and mystery, some nice freeze-frame rabbit holes, and good production value for what it is; a fan-fic - based on the best guesses they can make. Just like every other theory anyone else has ever come up with, myself included. Nice to meet ya John M Hollback. As The Ramones say,

Carey is on the album cover, you can see his shoulder next to George's head. The cutout is a from a frame from Kubrick's film The Killing.
He's hiding behind George, with his rifle pointing at John. The rifle is hidden behind Issy Bonn. In the film he shoots a racehorse. The Latin name for walrus is Odobenus Rosmarus, which means (tooth-walking) horse of the sea. Red Rum was a famous racehorse in the '70s. Wendy reads Catcher In The Rye at the beginning of The Shining(1980), in which Danny foresees bloodshed. Stephen King named his book after Lennon's song Instant Karma, with its line "We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun."
Redrum needs to be mirrored in order to be deciphered. The L and H in Lonely Hearts alphanumerically represent 12 and 8, or 12/8, the day Lennon was shot.

I didn't say it was a Paul was replaced board, I said it has PWR in the title, which lends itself to open-mindedness. In contrast to a strictly PID board which does not. By open-mindedness, I, of course, meant all theories are discussed, since one has not yet been established as true. It was a praise to this forum, as it is one of the only bastions of such discourse. Presenting evidence should not be labled as "trying to shut down". It is presenting a rebuttal. As far as respecting others, it would be wise not to accuse people of doing things they did not - such as altering photos. Or failing to "obviously" read the rules. Or seeing their perspective as the only valid one. Or disrespecting anyone's opinions. Seems I'm not the only one who speaks vehemently (and in bold absolutes). What troubles me are stances (not opinions) with little to no substantial evidence - especially when evidence to the contrary is provided, but ignored. (not pointing fingers at anyone, I see this everywhere). Conversation and dialogue are my goals. Though, it seems sometimes I think these topics are best discussed in person. I'll admit, early on, I may have misrepresented some with blanket assessments, based on bad experiences at said PID fourms, though they were never aimed at any one specifically. But likewise, I feel my intentions and words have been largely misinterpreted. I've moved on from my PID forum PTSD; perhaps we all should move on from the past. Of course, the standard PID paradigm should be discussed, that's the whole point. The way I see it, it's all about putting that on the table and seeing what works and what is open for reconsideration. Seems the only way to make any real progress. Again, my PTSD came from talking to PIDers at other forums and witnessing their utter unwillingness to look for the token under any other cups. Those places are group-think echo chambers that chase out anyone who questions the theory, with torches and pitchforks. And I'm not the only one who has had that experience.

That has been my experience in every PID forum I've been in except this one. VoodooGuru and I have been kicked out of every forum and group we've joined, simply for questioning the standard theory.
This forum having PWR in the title automatically lends itself to more open mindedness. Also, we have level headed mods here.

I noticed in The Bridge On The River Kwai, Commander Shears, a man who has taken over the identity of a dead man, says to his lady friend "All I need is love." To which she replies, "Yes, all you really need is love."
Also, officer Chapman's pick for the mission, a Canadian soldier, is grilled on his willingness and ability to use a weapon in cold blood.

Nothing in particular, just Multiverser and I were singing your praises on here a few years ago. I find this series much more useful than TRA. I was just looking into Franklin Shaffner, director of Planet of the Apes and Boys From Brazil, and turns out he also directed The Double Man in 1967, about a CIA agent who investigates his son's fatal accident, while Russian spies try to kidnap him and replace him with a look-alike double. www.imdb.com/title/tt0061594/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_11

Paul is Dead at the End of the World - Pt. 12 (Happy Crimball Edition) hey P(D), much like Ringo, you don't seem to reply to fanmail much these days, but that clip of William Holden is a doozy! He also played Paul in the loaded film Born Yesterday.Read about his personal life on Wiki...

Ironic that that video starts out with the clip from AHDN where the studio director, played byVictor Spinetti, is saying, "I'm quite happy to be replaced." When Paul's Grandfather tries to cause trouble at the tv studio, the director says this, while the camera cuts to Paul as he frowns and shakes his head. How 'bout that for "nothing is real". (by that I mean, the Strawberry Fields Forever video that cuts to Paul every time John sings "Nothing is real.")Not only are there as many PID winks and clues before 1966 as there are after, but there's as many differences between the Pauls before as there is after. The differences at 1:14 in that vid may be less subtle (to some) than the ones between the Pauls before 1966, as Javlim posted, but they are there. Even in vintage materials. It's also ironic that they threw this in the vid. Isn't that a PIA comp?!
