Paul Cole, man on Beatles' 'Abbey Road' cover, dies By Bill DeYoung (Contact) Friday, February 15, 2008 Paul Cole "Abbey Road" cover detail. That's Paul Cole, visible behind John Lennon as the Beatles walk across the famous London street. BAREFOOT BAY — Paul Cole was in one of the most famous photographs of the 20th century, and yet he wasn't famous. Cole, a longtime Barefoot Bay resident, died Wednesday in Pensacola at age 96. He is clearly seen in the famous shot of the Beatles walking across London's Abbey Road, used as the front cover of the group's classic 1969 album, "Abbey Road." Over the years, the picture has been reproduced in books, on posters, coffee mugs, T-shirts and hundreds of other places. The retired salesman is standing on the sidewalk, just behind the Beatles. Gawking at them. In a 2004 interview with Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, Cole explained how he came to be there at that precise moment. On a London vacation with his wife, Cole — then a resident of Deerfield Beach — declined to enter a museum on the north London thoroughfare. "I told her, 'I've seen enough museums. You go on in, take your time and look around and so on, and I'll just stay out here and see what's going on outside,'" he recalled. Parked just outside was a black police van. "I like to just start talking with people," Cole said. "I walked out, and that cop was sitting there in that police car. I just started carrying on a conversation with him. I was asking him about all kinds of things, about the city of London and the traffic control, things like that. Passing the time of day." In the picture, Cole is standing next to the police van. It was 10 a.m., Aug. 8, 1969. Photographer Iain McMillan was on a stepladder in the middle of the street, photographing the four Beatles as they walked, single-file, across Abbey Road, John Lennon in his famous white suit, Paul McCartney without shoes. The entire shoot lasted 10 minutes. "I just happened to look up, and I saw those guys walking across the street like a line of ducks," Cole remembered. "A bunch of kooks, I called them, because they were rather radical-looking at that time. You didn't walk around in London barefoot." About a year later, Cole first noticed the "Abbey Road" album on top of the family record player (his wife was learning to play George Harrison's love song "Something" on the organ). He did a double-take when he eyeballed McMillan's photo. "I had a new sportcoat on, and I had just gotten new shell-rimmed glasses before I left," he says. "I had to convince the kids that that was me for a while. I told them, 'Get the magnifying glass out, kids, and you'll see it's me.'" www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/feb/15/30gtpaul-cole-man-on-beatles-abbey-road-cover/

When Jesus was crucified, the people who ordered it, carried out, attended and mocked, spat, and reviled him, were neither repentant, holy, righteous, or seeking forgiveness. Yet our Lord prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing."
He told us to pray this way: "and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." He does not then add, "but only if we ask."
In Eccesiastes and other places, we discover that God hates a haughty look, or a proud attitude.
How should Christians behave? What should our heart condition be. That is the question here. The other part is, we will "get our goodies" if we don't extend forgiveness unconditionally?
Christ showed unconditional forgiveness. He allowed Himself to be flayed and crucified for the saving benefit of the lowest, basest sort of person---as well as the "not so bad on the outside" person.
God judges the heart, the innermost heart, not the outside of the cup.
Can we be angry, and show a temper, perhaps even a violent display of anger?
Remember Christ in the temple with the money changers? Enough said.
My point is that we're human, and made with God's set of specs for us (His image) and that includes the full range of human emotions. Anger and compassion. Forgiveness and hatred.
Yes, God feels hate and expresses it sometimes.
The burning of the Beatle records was an expression of righteous indignation for many American Christians. It's what they felt at the time. They were justifiably upset. So, burn records. But Forgive. Be angry with John. Then forgive. Extol his positive qualities. Celebrate that he once had accepted Christ. It was seed sown in a field of stubble. Apostle Paul tells us to let the backslider go, so that in the process of time, be destroyed in the body so that his soul may yet live. We do not know what he thought those last few weeks.
I think choosing to forgive all people is justifiable. (I am not saying it is easy or instantaneous.) You say selective forgiveness based on position (as a Christian brother) or merit (by virtue of asking) are necessary prerequisites.
This will sound snide. But why don't you just provide a prospective forgiveness candidate with an application so that you that you can tell the deserving apart from the undeserving?
I'll help.
1) Are you currently a Christian?
2) How long have you been a Christian?
3) Are you REALLY a Christian, or just a phony believer?
4) Do you ever consume alcoholic beverages?
5) Have you had any illicit sex since supposedly converting?
6) Are you a good Republican or not?
7) How many hours of service do you give your pastor?
8) What was you crime against me? Have you thoroughly pondered your guilt and truly come to regret what you did, or are you faking just to get along? Would you be tempted to ever do it again? Have you secretly recalled you wrongs against me and savored their memory? Have you read the Bible in the last week?
9) What magazines do you read?
10) Are you know, or have you ever been a supporter of the Beatles?
11) If I asked you to condemn the acts and lifestyle of John Lennon, would you readily do so?
ad nauseum.....
Sorry to get so heavy handed.
And I bet you won't be able to forgive me. But I can forgive you.
I have now trashed you up in a post and given you ongoing reason to flame and incite me. You have my permission. I have turned one very large, obese cheek in your direction. And that's just one of the ones on my chubby face.
Slap now, or forever hold your peace.

Whats up Doc, Do you plan on following me around where ever I post the smallest of remarks? Let me start by apologizing I had no ideal I was renting that much space in your head. This must really be weighing on your heart and I know its taken you a week to respond. OK Heres how it all started I wrote this a week ago: I know this has been a problem before, but I am no beatles fan.I don't respect them as musicians or any of the feats they have accomplished. I don't even care for them as people. I believe they had an agenda thats represents absolutely nothing I'm about. They were satanist to the core, so saying that they weren't would be as silly to me as arguing that Aliester Crowley was a christian. I believe what Aliester Crowley said about worshiping satan to become a musical genius and playing better(dont try it mikey). Timothy Leary called the beates the "four evangelicals" to bring in the age of horus. They asked you to hold their hand and then led Amerika down a dark winding road of moral decay. I believe there is sufficient evidence that they were a creation of a torrent of media propaganda. I believe they had more than a little help from their friends in writing the music. I believed they have served as a valuable pawn of the new age of the world order and I stand against this new world ordo. Why am I here? I believe paul Mccarney died and was replaced. I want evil to be exposed so that eyes will open to truth. This story could open many eyes! and make them ask questions. ty and then the rest of the conversations started from there as you know since you read them. Now ask yourself what part of your post has anything thing to do with anything I've said. I've always done my best to talk strictly about the message, whether it be john lennon, Jesus Christ, or satan as a person, thing, or whatever he is. If you want to believe Christ and the beatles message was the same thing, hey then have a good trip friend. I just wanna ask that you not spew your religious beliefs on me. If you want to sit down and have a intelligent conversation about the "message" I'd be glad to. P.S. If your post wasn't intended for me my bad

Old King Cole was a merry old soul And a merry old soul was he; He called for his pipe, and he called for his bowl And he called for his fiddlers three. Every fiddler he had a fiddle, And a very fine fiddle had he; Oh there's none so rare, as can compare With King Cole and his fiddlers three. Coincidence? I don't think so!

Remember to think before you respond Doc. Ask yourself what was the message. Do your own thing(Do as thou wilt), was the message right? OK now if your insist on bringing Christ's message into this, and want to tie the two together, then you've got alot of explaining to do. LoL

We really need to be posting this conversation over in let me introduce to you under Fighting the forces of EVIL!!!, where no one knows if its about me or the message. I'm wasting valuable views here. Thanks for the compliment -j, but the rest of your post it is like asking "why did the chicken cross the road" hmmm cause he chose to get to the other side. You're going to haft to get past the I chose to wipe my but this morning after going poop type stuff, or we can type just for the sake of typing and post it all day long. I'm not even trying to pick a fight with you, but reread what you just typed. Sorry, but it had to be said to derail similar responses in the future, even though this strategy has failed to work thus far, or I wouldn't be posting in this thread right now.

OK now if your insist on bringing Christ's message into this, and want to tie the two together, then you've got alot of explaining to do. LoL OK. Now for a big rant. Before going on, know that I am not angry with any of you; I am frustrated with what I perceive to be true and it's been coming on for a long time. No, I am not wanting to tie Christs's message in with John's or the Beatles's messages. I am familiar with the adage "Do as thou wilt" which equals "Do what'chu want to do." Like the song. I am saying that I do not condemn the Beatles, or Paul or Faul or John or Apple or anyone involved with it that I know of--for the main part. If it were to be told to us all now that there were murders, etc., and who and how and all that, I would be shocked and saddened and be deeply sorry that so much talent and success came to that. None of us, not you or I, can or would justify heinous crimes, i.e. ,murders, etc. Whatever John and Paul, George and Ringo thought about religion, Crowley, paganism or devil worship, etc., is for the record, not something I agree with or favor, but they were honest about it at the time. John slammed Christianity and a lot else but he was at least telling truthfully what he believed and thought, without hesitation, and read the gospels and Christ had, strangely, a better regard for heathen honesty than for any kind of pretense or dishonesty sold as truth by those who should AND DO know better. I.e., really, dishing the band members---four raggedy and wild schoolboys sold into success by older adults who pulled all the strings, exploited, profited from and otherwise treated as a traveling circus spectacle---is cruel, empty, and missing the point. They were young and disenchanted with the miserably archaic, hollow, and dead religious system in Britain----a sham in most cases and likely a valid target of criticism by Christ Himself-------why pick on the naive without opportunity to see beyond the limited scope they had. All they saw after they became famous was hotel rooms and planes. While their owners racked up billions and still do it today. Who are they? What do they believe? The puppet masters? Huh? The invisible producers are never criticised because no one knows who they are. The Beatles did not start anything that wasn't already happening, in terms of religious things, whether Christian, pagan, or satanic. And without their handlers consent, not a thing they ever endorsed would have made it passed the front row.

Yeah I think they bought into it at a very young age and vulnerable time in their life. But its like what Mindgames said, once your in theres only one way out. I can't tell you if they're forgiven or unforgiven, I could forgive them all day long, that makes me sleep better at night, but really does nothing for them. They don't know my name, or quite possibly they could care less if they have offended me. I do not know their heart, but only their works. Are they unforgiven? I can't tell you if they committed a unforgivable offense, IMO, they probably did not. As far as PID goes, I think their involvement in such activities play a role in Paul being replaced. Clearly Iamaphoney feels the same way. If you look, there were quite a few signs of Paul being unhappy. Perhaps he wanted out. Perhaps he was murdered. Maybe his conscious was weighing on him heavy. They were some movers and shakers pulling all the strings, that could of easily made this replacement happen. The remaining beatles and Paul's family could of been all lied to and told this was just an unfortunate mishap. Deep down I think the remaining beatles knew it was the price to be paid for betrayal. I believe the fiery car crash method has been used to assassinate people numerous times( www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr7ExB8R3aQ). So I do think there is, as others here do, another level to this mystery and if we continue to only look at what surfaces, we will never see what lies below: the truth.

concDo as Thou wilst, actually I am going to diflate Mr. Crowley, and say that God himself gave us the ability to Do as we want, it is called Freedom so Jarv you are dead on the money, but theses moral laws you speak of surely must come from some universal conscience mind otherwise why do we all know in our hearts what is good and bad? <snip>Ask yourself what was the message. Doc whatever you intend doesn't make you any better than anybody else that doesn't intend, but end up off topic anyway!!!! So who's toes are you trying not to step on? definately not mine!
However since John was purported to be a Christian hater I think it is ALL very on topic!
How HONEST can the BEATLES really be if they hid/and are hiding the truth about Paul?
Maybe you have missed a lot of post but I know I have criticized the puppet masters in several threads and I can see these boys as victims, who knows maybe they where chosen at birth to be puppets 4 Rosemary babies how about them apples?

Am I losing my mind or what? I'm reading about the dude who died that was in the background of Abbey Road and then we switch into some rant about religion...
or is this some code language to confuse and confound those who are not of the inner circle...those of us who have been disregarded by the "norm" of society and spend our time posting on Paul is Dead forums???
I know it's past my bedtime, but if this is some encoded language, please inform those of us who are not in the secret society of PIDism.
We were talking about someone from Barefoot Bay, and the Beatles being barefoot, then all about Jesus....
I thought that maybe DOC would tell us that Jesus performed His miracles barefoot, but it was something altogether different....
...OR that Jesus' image appeared on the cover of Abbey Road and He was barefoot...
but NOOOOOOO!
then I thought that perhaps it was about forgiveness or repentance..but I still didn't get it...
but then I realized in oversized lettering he was posting in the wrong place....
Well, then I realized it wasn't me after all....
At least I haven't lost it completely.....yet!
I thought it could have been the power of LEAP YEAR....like an eclipse, strange things happening...
Whatever it is...let's hope it soon passes over us...before we are overcome by the VAPORS!
