I couldn't get to them last time. The host wanted me to be a member, and I wasn't ready to commit. I'll look into it a bit tonight. Best wishes.

I was able to download "Dear Prudence", but I couldn't get it to play. Maybe someone else has had better luck?

It still doesn't work. I will make a video later and post it in YouTube or somewhere, so you could see the problem.

Oh, so FRAPS can record only games. Well, anyway it plays the song (at least acts like that) for several seconds and then stops.

Wow! I'm listening to "Working Class Hero", and at first I thought you had just made a copy of John! You have a future in a Beatle band! ;D The only thing is, I had to have the volume waaaaaaayyy up, and still it was so faint that I had to put a microphone in front of the computer speakers and transmit it to my stereo system to amplify it. (I used JoJo's clips.) JoJo: I noticed that the "Hope of Deliverance" video at Veoh is also at a very low volulme. I presume you loaded it to there. Perhaps you can crank things up a notch in future downloads. Plastic Paul: I noticed that your guitar work is a bit different in "Working Class Hero". John had sort of a reggae thing going on, but your guitar playing was certainly OK. "Jealous Guy" - 4 stars (ooh! - the first "I was shivering in side" didn't quite hit it. ) "Cry Baby Cry" - 3 and a half stars (pauses too short) I'm not sayin' I could do it.

His clips are low-ish, but not that bad, and the HOD video would be into the distortion range if I cranked it up any further.. I suspect you might need to go into the Windows control panel and adjust your audio settings. (give me a shout if need be)

Thanks 4k, i certainly don't profess to think I hit the nail on the head but I know for a fact that I can do Jealous Guy better. No excuses, but Cry Baby Cry is fairly new on my "Beatles Radar" and my guitar skills aren't the best anyway I must say, so yes Working Class Hero will definitely seem a little different. I'm glad you liked it though! I still think that Dear Prudence is the best from this thread that I've done, so hopefully you can get that working, I think you'd like it. PS. My recordings are very prehistorically done, so i'm sure it's not a problem with any of your equiptment! ;D

Anyone heard Dear Prudence yet? Yes, pp, again, you did a good job! You achieve a John-esque quality in spades. It's kinda scary.........good. I am enjoying your musical series actually, don't stop there.

Hey Plastic Paul.
I just heard Working Class Hero. Excellent imitation of Lennon (Charlie Brill). This shows how it can be done. It's a very convincing mimickry at the higher note ranges of the song, less so on the lower part of the scale. Your English accent is regionally different than the "scouse" that Fohn imitates in WCH and this shows through slightly in the lower notes. Still, an impressive job, congratulations. I would be interested in hearing your mimicking of pre-1967 real Lennon voiced songs such as the 1963/64 "I'm In Love" demo that I posted today. You could do the "before and after" Lennons.

I just listened to it. Very nice. I admire your ability to hit the high notes, especially since the whole song is at the upper range of your (or anyone's) voice. The one thing that's different in your version, which is quite good by the way, than the recorded version, is the way the recorded version sort of "scotch-tapes" all the notes together. That's not a proper musical description, I'm sure, but.... Your version is a little less flowing, I guess, but it was, as I've mentioned, quite good. I wouldn't mistake you for the original in this song, but even so, it's not too shabby. (Meaning it's good.)
