Thanks for those expressions Jude. I must admit I was a bit confused about what happened. I think I understand a little better now.

Say I cheat; whatever, it is all I know to use such tools. It just hurts when I'm called a "cheater" for using said tools. I'm sure it hurts when you spend many an hour making something and see it is taken a little TOO seriously. Yeah, but you kind of overreacted. My exact words were, I believe, "I sort of wish you hadn't cheated, but in the end, all that matters is that you had fun". In the words of John Lennon, "I didn't mean to hurt you". But now I know that you had been drinking, so that explains the way you acted that night. I'm sorry, I really am.

I just caught up with this. I saw that site for the first time today and made a big post about it. D'oh! ;D
I am sure that we all know that you did not have malicious intentions, but I can see how people could be hurt by it. April 10th is close enough and hopefully we'll have so much to talk about by then that this will barely be a memory.
Good to see you back.

Jude, I apologize if you feel I personally was/am being too hard on you......it's over now, and I look forward to moving on in a new direction. Not a grudge match by any means, OK? Maybe I see the point or maybe the point doesn't exist, either way, it turned to be a valuable exercise to all involved, so actually, I thank you....... Thanks for those expressions Jude. I must admit I was a bit confused about what happened. I think I understand a little better now. same here

Let me add something that hasn't been mentioned...
The dangling carrot wasn't close enough to some to entice us to go all the way to download and install the exe file. I maintain that I would have had no qualms about downloading the material and installing it had I known that Jude was involved, in some way. The logistics of the prank needed tweaking.
Look at the suitcase as a dangling carrot, too, and look at how 65if2007 prefaced his venture with caution. He was backing out if he so much as heard a snap of a twig out there, he wasn't running headlong out into a swan dive into the hedge.
It reveals that not all of us are drooling at the mouth (bloodhound reference) eager to download each and every item of interest that is dropped at the front door, it could be a bag of poop on fire, for all we know. That should not be seen as a character flaw.
I trusted socash, I was impressed by the way he took control and I was content to wait on his discovery.
There is nothing wrong with being cautious and skeptical, to a point. We aren't all, over-eager or over-anxious, (or rabid to sharpen contrast) bloodhounds chasing every trail that tickles our nose; some of us are reluctant hounds preferring to laze in the tall, cool grass.
edit to add---
Or to put it more simply, some of us are chomping at the bit to follow trails and some of us are more selective in our pursuits, for whatever reason. That is what makes this forum so dynamic. We tackle things in our own way and at our own pace, as it should be.
I don't want the previous paragraph to be misinterpreted as ascribing a negative connotation to anyone's methods of searching for clues and/or information.
edit to add---
I think that variety needs to be respected.
Jude, I am glad that you stepped up and engaged us all in discussion.

Jude,
I realize that your prank didn't go the way you had predicted, but if I hadn't been fooled, I probably would have gotten more sleep that night than those mangy pangy couple of hours with my head still reeling and trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
If you still feel miserable about what went down, can you at least take pride in the fact that you are probably the only person here who could get away with that and still be loved and respected by everyone here?
You will never lose your creds with me, my friend. I hope you will forgive anything that I did that might have hurt your feelings. This journey is no fun without you.
Make it, Jude

I had attempted to post a comment late last night when I saw Jude's post, but I was literally so tired that I was dozing off while trying to compose my comments, so I threw in the towel. Jude, you know that you and I had no intent to seriously mislead anyone. If that had been the case, we would have deserved the wrath we might have engendered, but we would not have knowingly allowed that to occur. You have nothing to be ashamed of, and as I think has been made clear in the posts above this one, we all want you (and socash) to feel welcome here. You have my best wishes.

I feel so stupid. However, blackbird ( freebird ) & I never got all of the clues. Neither one of us could figure out what the "game" was. We never saw a way to participate in it. We just saw what we saw & took it at face value. Hey, we're both middle aged women. We don't have the smarts & fortitufe that the younguns' have ! < grin > BTW, my last IM to you at YouTube was written before I read this thread. I'm so relieved that you have posted about this & that you laid it all on the line. I feel alot better now, but I still feel really badly for you. You put your heart & soul into something that was horribly misconstrued. I would love to play that game. I probably still won't get it, even after all the "clues" that you just gave to us. I know, I'm pathetic !

Jude, I'm really glad you are back and REALLY GLAD YOU ARE OKAY ! I confess though, that I'm one of the dummies who couldn't figure out what the MEGAUPLOAD website was. You just don't know who you are dealing with on these forums, do you ?!?!?
Well. I can take a joke and I can laugh at myself - so no hard feelings on my part. I just wish I had looked closer at what that website was all about. I know I have been lost on so many of the videos - I guess I gave up too quickly on trying to figure this out.
Let me think a minute to see if I can come up with any other excuses as to why I completely missed the game. . . . . . . . . yeah, I've made a list, but I'm not gonna display my list on here. Me, laughing at myself is enough people laughing at me, so I'll keep it to myself. Just know if I had been more on the ball, I would have played.
The main thing is that you are back !! Now, you have to promise not to run out on us ANYMORE !!
You know we still love you !!! JUDE !!
