Nice pic. Best thing to do is host pics you find on your own space, as many site don't allow hotlinking. A free image hosting site: www.photobucket.com

I like the story where he was damaged in a car accident, then replaced in real life while his body is fixed in space... that would be a good movie. Maybe we can get Spielberg and Leonardo Di Caprio to collaborate on that.

I read the whole "Story" and comments and there are 2 things that are bothering me (a la Columbo). First, the storyteller talks about the people who signed contracts to keep the real info about the real Paul quiet. They are: the 3 Paul-sound-a-likes finalists, Paul's family, Jane Asher, and everybody involved. So we're getting into dozens of people and alot of paper and NONE of those contracts have surfaced?? Second, there are the pictures of the Paul replacement winner with his bandaged face that as TotalInformation said in his 7/6/05 post should be released: I think one or more of the pictures SHOULD HAVE BEEN released by now and the fact that none hasn't makes that suspicious. Comments?

Hi Paulumbo,
Naming this post "The Story" was (by accident) a good way of saying it is what it is.. A story.. basically a friend of a friend thing. No one is expected to just set aside their reasonable doubt, but it is an interesting story, and one that is better to tell than to just sit on. The NIR member who was the FOTF has since drifted away from here, sadly.
The bandaged face photos were (allegedly) released already, in the sense that they were published sometime in the late '66 - early '67 timeframe in a popular weekly magazine in Britain.. Efforts were made a couple of times to find the correct back issue, but without success. In one case, the person found one issue with pages ripped out, and it would have been a likely date for this.. Well anyway, I won't name the magazine here just in case there's a chance it can still be unearthed, but I'll respond to a PM if anyone's interested.

I get alot of books about the Beatles by interlibrary loan and I'm finding Beatles material to be a favorite for rip-off artists and I mean literally ripping out pages from books and magazines. I was trying to find an article about the Beatles that was microfilmed and the damn magazine was MICROFILMED with pages missing. That's why it's important to have original copies of books and magazines. Your collection is terrific, JoJo.

Heh, I once tried to get the limited edition Derek Taylor book via ILL.. By limited I mean only 1000 copies. They all but said "Are you nuts??" ;D It's in the Boston Public Library, I might have a shot at talking my way into having a look if I went there in person.. been too lazy and there probably isn't anything too amazing in there.

Sorry for the delay, TotalInformation. The article was in GOOD HOUSEKEEPING magazine, July, 1965, pages 12+. It's called, "What every woman should know about The Beatles." The reason why I'm trying to hunt down MAGAZINE articles is because there were so few books written about the Beatles from 1965 to 1967. I pored over WORLDCAT [lists books owned by libraries worldwide] listings and found that except for compilations of L&M lyrics, and descriptions of their movie HELP, the only other English language books published during that time were by 16 Magazine. ODD, isn't it?

However, Lennon was forced into giving up LSD by the "thousands" of bad trips he experienced. He was later privately to admit that he was lucky to have regained his mental equilibrium afterwards. Many of his friends never did. Suppose I'll weigh in... Better late than never. While there is much I could comment on, I'll focus strictly on this statement. Before reading this statement, I was struck by the earlier post(s) about John's supposed mental state. It made me think of the (fairly recent) biography written by Philip Norman: "John Lennon - The Life" I can't precisely say why Norman strikes me as EXTREMELY credible. I was born after Lennon's death, in 1983. (Matter of fact, 27 years ago today... okay, technically yesterday considering its after midnight.) Everything I know of John Lennon, and nearly everything I know about Paul, "Paul," George, and Ringo is in retrospect. My whole life Lennon in particular has been described as larger than life, in an almost god-like way. Norman's biography really humanizes John which, to me, was very refreshing. He also considers "Paul" an unreliable source which is astonishing considering he was (supposedly) 1/4 of the group from the beginning. When considering John's mental state (from earlier posts in this thread) I couldn't help but think of parts of Norman's book which mention how John would take handfuls of pills/drugs like he was eating from a bowl of assorted nuts, including LOTS of LSD. Without incriminating myself too much, I'd like to admit my own drug use and disclose my own experience as a comparison. Let me preface by saying (and I can't stress this enough) that LSD use is extremely, Extremely, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY dangerous. Yes, it can be enlightening and bring about "religious" experiences but it can really mess you up. I was lucky enough to have friends who wouldn't allow me to use this drug too early in fear that I could damage my mental state, and even then no one is truly ready for the experiences you may have. The only topic I have started on this forum is about how coincidences may actually be more than chance, that there is a bigger meaning somewhere within these experiences almost as if they are divine intervention or how "God" communicates with us. This is very much how LSD works. When "tripping" with other people, it is amazingly common for those involved to experience the same thoughts, visions, experiences, feelings, etc. Why? Coincidence? Maybe not. Anyways, in my "There are no coincidences" thread, I mentioned the 'Celestine Prophecy' which stuck me due to YouKnowMyName's YouTube series. It is a book in which "the main character of the novel undertakes a journey to find and understand a series of nine spiritual insights on an ancient manuscript in Peru." The first insight: * A Critical Mass A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture; an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.* (I apologize for babbling) I never had a "bad trip." The closest I ever came was a bad 'episode' during my last trip. Although I never read the book, I was told about it by my sister. At the time she lived several hundred miles away from me and somehow I could feel her contacting me mentally and I knew that "The Celestine Prophecy" was involved. (I still feel guilty about not reading, and not asking her about this experience). I was terrified! Luckily my best friend (who's parents happen to be Liverpudlian) since we were 5 yrs. old was with me and he settled me down. He came upstairs while I was beginning to freak out... I asked him why I was here. In retrospect I realize I meant "why am I HERE," as in, what is my BIGGER purpose on this earth? He settled me down, I came down, and I vowed to never take LSD again. In my life, I had one bad trip (sort of) and that convinced me to stop because I feared for my mental well being. I can't imagine experiencing THOUSANDS of bad trips, as John supposedly (and may very well) have had. One of the people who turned me on to cannabis had maybe 10-20 bad trips and was completely effed-up in the head for life. That alone makes me believe that John's mental state could have been very much effected, he could have believed that "Bill" was Paul, and it would be amazing if his sanity was mostly restored in his final few years...

That alone makes me believe that John's mental state could have been very much effected, he could have believed that "Bill" was Paul, and it would be amazing if his sanity was mostly restored in his final few years...Thanks for opening up and giving us a bit of perspective from a private place, sv. I believe that John's mental state WAS "very much effected" by drug use and ESPECIALLY by LSD, and I believe that this was by design. I believe that John was a victim of trauma-based mind control, and that Yoko became his handler. The fractured emotional state created by his childhood made him a PERFECT candidate, and his astonishing charisma, coupled with his creative genius made him a tremendously valuable asset to those who would seek to control the masses. Have a look at the FOLLOW MR.APOLLO thread. Specifically, the discussion of Amanita Muscaria that begins in post #97 of that thread, where I begin to propose that the APPLE of Eden was really an Amanita Muscaria mushroom, and that part of what the Beatles were doing was an attempt to show the masses that REAL SPIRITUAL AWAKENING could be achieved through the use of psychedelics. invanddis.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Clues&action=display&thread=5636&page=4 And here's another thread about it: invanddis.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Clues&action=display&thread=4124But if the use of psychedelic drugs can lead to spiritual awakening, then why do we consider their use to be so dangerous? It seems like a complete contradiction, right? Well, it's dangerous because once you begin to understand the REAL truth, then your existence in this fake reality becomes less and less satisfying, and you begin to lose interest in the things that are required to keep their machine running: School Job Politics War etc... All of the things that tie us to the matrix (for lack of a better term) get exposed for the control mechanism that they are, and the cognitive dissonance festival gets under way in earnest. After all, how on earth can one be expected to sit in a cubicle, processing widgets, supporting a murderous, global enslavement system after learning that: "...all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration – that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves." (tips cap to Bill Hicks ) P(D)
