Officially, the song "Revolution" was written because Lennon was inspired by a protest in March 1968 on the American Embassy in London's Grosvenor Square. However, there was another event which occured a couple years before which Lennon might have heard about and maybe stuck in his mind. Perhaps even inspiring in part--Yellow Submarine... On September 15, 1966, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother of England, launched the HMS Resolution--a ballistic missile nuclear submarine. users.skynet.be/RonSubCovers/SSBN%20Sub/GB/Resolution.htmThe official story is very conventional explaination, but what about the launch of Resolution? You say you want a revolution...You say you got a real solution...Revolution....Resolution Resolution....Real Solution Well maybe... And what about the September 15, 1966 date? Perhaps a sort of launch or new beginning for the Beatles? Hmm... Maybe it fits, maybe not, but it's certainly an entertaining thought....

Well, John and songs based on newspaper stories---sounds plausible, at least. And John and his word play....how it appears Aunt Mimi fostered a penchant for name-gaming, as mode of expression and outlet for his free-wheeling mental gears----your speculation is not too far afield, me thinks.
