Sir Paul McCartney donates £1M tsunami appeal January 13, 2005, 12:01:02 Sir Paul McCartney has donated £1 million to victims of the Asian tsunami. The former Beatles star and wife Heather Mills announced yesterday (12.01.05) that they had offered the massive sum and that their contribution had already arrived with aid agencies working to help people caught up in the Boxing Day disaster. A source close to the couple admitted: "Like most people they were moved by the devastation. They wanted to do their bit to help and be part of the British effort." A spokesperson for the International Rescue Committee said they were "overwhelmed" by the offer which will be spent on supplying clean drinking water and medicines and deploying mobile emergency teams to help victims in India's Aceh province - one of the areas worst affected by the tidal wave.
Bless his little polyester socks!

that's terrific. Good for them. JUut found this. How sobering. I guess one doesn't make a big fuss over what they did, but I have to say: Bravo, and Brava! Such positive commitments lead the way for even further positive action. And, its truly situation calling for big actions. Fantastic! You know, I'm not gonna gush on like I usually do--cause I won't establish the true tone of respect I feel for both of them for that decision--not that they need any id*mn validation--but I can't let it go here without ackowledging how excellent it is for a blessed man (and his house) to be able to follow through this way; and truly it says to me his heart is in the right place. JMO. Quick! Let's close the forum and go shrinking away.........(hot coals on my head, ow! That burns!) Just kidding. If he knows about NIR/TKIN etc., which, duh, I guess is a possibility, then he's put up with it all long enough to get some amusement out of it...........
