My bad, I should have mentioned that the images were stolen from an auction somewhere. The Mojo magazine was the "1000 days that shook the world" special limited edition, and there was a section about collectibles. In that, they talk about sheet music, with the wooden face of Eleanor Rigby shown as an example of what you would see if you purchased this sheet music. They don't give a date, but it's implied that it was soon after Revolver itself was released. The Ladders is mentioned here. I'm The Greatest is the only record which matches the line up of a post-Beatles Group "The Ladders", which George Harrison intended to install with his two former band mates and other fellow musicians like Voormann and Preston. The Traveling Wilburys in the late 1980s was another effort of Harrison to create a supergroup with friends. It's possible any "hidden" members of Klaatu thought about the need someday to finally present a "face" and involved Terry, Dee and John W. right from the beginning..

early KLAATU = The Ladders = John, Klaus, George & Ringo Jojo, which issu of MOJO do you refer to? When was that sheet music released? I thought the ladders were a band in planning and it stopped there. Or did they actually do something? (I'm talking about the ladders specifically)

There's a ladder between John's nose and Billy Shear's face, just above the flying yellow Paul. Seems the idea was in play as early as the White Album.

Just bumping this to repost a paragraph from the Providence Journal from: invanddis.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=Clues&action=display&thread=3870&page=2#47722I finally reached Frank Davies, Klaatu's "sort of manager," in Toronto. He said he could not tell me who was in the band. I asked him if it was the Beatles or whether they had anything to do with Klaatu. First, he gave me a flat "No" and said that the only Beatle connection was "inspirational." But when asked if any of the Beatles played on the album, he hesitated, laughed quietly, hesitated again and then said that "everything you've summarized is really pretty accurate all the way around" and that "everything that is there, can and will be identified even without, perhaps them, the people, being seen."

Tagging this on to the Klaatu thread so it doesn't get lost in the RA thread. Ok. I dont have time to elaborate (and probably not permission), but 2 bright cats hit me up tonight, and one a while back. 1: "He sang a song about the Mull of KinTyre. He was probably replaced." 2: "There are tons of Beatles Syncs" Dee a while back also fed me a lil' something to chew on... ("Yes! I simply went back in time to the moment just before Paul died in a car crash" "Jimi, he let his death remain a part of history and headed out in the Dragonfly ship to explore the Universe. For all we know Janis went with him.) "Tons of Beatle syncs" probably refers to a movie. Someone once made a post about a site that talks about movie syncs, with a couple syncing with Beatle movies.. that was a while ago. Always meant to try 'em out, but it takes some effort to do it right. I'm still puzzled by the Dee Long sci-fi story reference, did you get a rough draft or something from Dee himself?? This is the part that mentions Paul: www.deelong.com/Ootas/Ootas_Chapter_09.htmDee, “So, can you explain to me why Paul looks so young? I’m assuming this isn’t the current Paul, but Paul from the past.”
Jim, “Well, that’s correct. We had quite an adventure picking up Janis. I’ll tell you about it another time. In the process we sort of accidentally ran into Paul. Janis let it slip that we’re having this jam. Paul wanted to come along, and here we are.”

The aarvark on this cover is holding up a bicycle. Bicycle Day. LSD, also known as acid, was first synthesized on November 16, 1938[1] by Swiss chemist Dr. Albert Hofmann at the Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland, as part of a large research program searching for medically useful ergot alkaloid derivatives. Ergot is a fungus that, by infecting cereals grains used for making rye breads, causes ergotism, among the symptoms of which are hallucinations. Its psychedelic properties were unknown until 5 years later, when Hofmann, acting on what he has called a "peculiar presentiment," returned to work on the chemical.[2] While re-synthesizing LSD-25 for further study, Hofmann became dizzy and was forced to stop work. In his journal, Hofmann wrote that after becoming dizzy he proceeded home and was affected by a "remarkable restlessness, combined with a slight dizziness". Hofmann stated that as he lay in his bed he sank into a pleasant "intoxicated like condition" which was characterized by an extremely stimulated imagination. He stated that he was in a dreamlike state, and with his eyes closed he could see uninterrupted streams of "fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors." The condition lasted about two hours after which it faded away.[3] Hofmann had attributed the psychoactive effects he experienced to accidentally absorbing a tiny amount of LSD-25 into his skin. Three days later he would take a much larger dose in order to test its effects further, this day would later be referred to as the "Bicycle Day".[4] On April 19, 1943 Dr. Hofmann intentionally ingested 250 µg of LSD, which he hypothesized would be a threshold dose, based on other ergot alkaloids. After ingesting the substance Hofmann was struggling to speak intelligibly and asked his laboratory assistant, who knew of the self-experiment, to escort him home on his bicycle, due to the lack of available vehicles during wartime restrictions. On the bicycle ride home, Hofmann's condition became more severe and in his journal he stated that everything in his field of vision wavered and was distorted, as if seen in a curved mirror. Hofmann also stated that while riding on the bicycle, he had the sensation of being stationary, unable to move from where he was, despite the fact that he was moving very rapidly. Once Hofmann arrived safely home, he summoned a doctor and asked his neighbor for milk, believing it may help relieve the symptoms. Hofmann wrote that despite his delirious and bewildered condition, he was able to choose milk as a nonspecific antidote for poisoning.[5] Upon arriving the doctor could find no abnormal physical symptoms other than extremely dilated pupils. After spending several hours terrified that his body had been possessed by a demon, that his next door neighbor was a witch, and that his furniture was threatening him, Dr. Hofmann feared he had become completely insane. In his journal Hofmann said that the doctor saw no reason to prescribe medication and instead sent him to his bed. At this time Hofmann said that the feelings of fear had started to give way to feelings of good fortune and gratitude, and that he was now enjoying the colors and plays of shapes that persisted behind his closed eyes. Hofmann mentions seeing "fantastic images" surging past him, alternating and opening and closing themselves into circles and spirals and finally exploding into colored fountains and then rearranging themselves in a constant flux. Hofmann mentions that during the condition every acoustic perception, such as the sound of a passing automobile, was transformed into optical perceptions. Eventually Hofmann slept and upon awakening the next morning felt refreshed and clearheaded, though somewhat physically tired. He also stated that he had a sensation of well being and renewed life and that his breakfast tasted unusually delicious. Upon walking in his garden he remarked that all of his senses were " vibrating in a condition of highest sensitivity, which then persisted for the entire day".[5] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_LSD

The knight chess piece heading off the chess board has a unicorn's horn and is known as a fairy chess piece. A fairy chess piece (often in shortened form fairy piece) or unorthodox chess piece (or in shortened form unorthodox piece) is a chess piece not used in conventional chess, but used in certain chess variants and some chess problems. Fairy chess is a term in a chess problem which expands classical (also called orthodox) chess problems which are not direct mates. Archbishop (knight + bishop compound) Also known as Janus, princess Chancellor (knight + rook compound) Grasshopper (shown as an upside-down queen) Nightrider or unicorn (shown as an upside-down knight) or with a unicorn horn. The nightrider, or unicorn, which can make an unlimited number of knight moves (that is, 2,1 cells) in any direction (though, like other riders, it cannot change direction half-way through its move). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairy_chess_pieceThree-dimensional chess, or 3D chess, are examples of chess variants. Three-dimensional variants have existed since the late 19th century. One of the oldest versions is Raumschach (German for "Space chess"), invented in 1907 by Ferdinand Maack and played on a 5x5x5 board. Maack founded a Raumschach club in Hamburg in 1919, which remained active until the Second World War. In Raumschach, the unicorn is a triagonal rider, moves through the vertices of the cubes. The 3D board is actually a cube sliced into 5 equal spaces across each of its three major coordinal planes. This sectioning yields a 125-cell playing volume. Each floor is marked with a capital letter, A, B, C, D or E. Ranks and files are as in chess. So, the kings start on Ac1 and Ec5. White starts on the A level (the ground floor) and black starts on the roof. Rooks, bishops, and knights move as they do in Chess in any given plane. Rooks, for example, move through the walls of the cubes in any rank, file, or column. Bishops move along the edges of the cubes, and knights move one cube rookwise followed by one bishopwise move. Unicorns move through the vertices of the cube, each of the two can only reach 30 cubes. The queen combines the moves of rooks, bishops, and unicorns. The king moves just like a queen but one step at a time. Pawns move in two directions, forward like a Chess pawn, and may move one step upward (if white) or downward (if black) and capture diagonally upward (or downward). Promotion occurs where pawns can't move any more, that is the rank E5 for white pawns and A1 for black pawns. There is no double move, en passant nor castling. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-D_chessBeatle-inspired chess set on show The set was commissioned by fellow Beatle George Harrison in 1973 A gold and silver-plated chess set, modelled on the hands of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, has gone on show in a Tokyo department store. The piece, commissioned by fellow band member George Harrison in 1973, was displayed at Takashimaya to mark the opening of a new Asprey store. The London jeweller is selling replica sets for £15,000 each. Starr apparently learned to play chess during the making of the Sergeant Pepper album, released in 1967. The "hands", designed by Robin Crookshank, are set in a certain gestures to represent each chess figure, and include the rings worn by the star. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6039806.stmto be continued

The Aardvark (Orycteropus afer) ("Digging foot") is a medium-sized, burrowing, nocturnal mammal native to Africa. [1] It is sometimes called "antbear", "anteater", "Cape anteater" (after the Cape of Good Hope), "earth hog" or "earth pig". The name comes from the Afrikaans/Dutch for "earth pig" (aarde earth, varken pig), because early settlers from Europe thought it resembled a pig. However, the aardvark is not closely related to the pig; rather, it is the sole recent representative of the obscure mammalian order Tubulidentata, in which it is usually considered to form a single variable species of the genus Orycteropus, coextensive with the family Orycteropodidae. Nor is the aardvark closely related to the South American anteater, despite sharing some characteristics and a superficial resemblance.[2] The closest living relatives of the aardvark are the elephant shrews, along with the sirenians, hyraxes, tenrecs and elephants. Genetically speaking, the aardvark is a living fossil, as its chromosomes are highly conserved, reflecting much of the early eutherian arrangement before the divergence of the major modern taxa. [3] The aardvark is vaguely pig-like. Its body is stout with an arched back and is sparsely covered with coarse hairs. The limbs are of moderate length. The front feet have lost the pollex (or 'thumb') — resulting in four toes — but the rear feet have all five toes. Each toe bears a large, robust nail which is somewhat flattened and shovel-like, and appears to be intermediate between a claw and a hoof. The ears are disproportionately long, and the tail is very thick at the base and gradually tapers. The greatly elongated head is set on a short, thick neck, and the end of the snout bears a disc, which houses the nostrils. The mouth is small and tubular, typical of species that feed on termites. The aardvark has a long, thin, snakelike, protruding tongue and elaborate structures supporting a keen sense of smell. An aardvark's weight is typically between 70 and 115 kg. An aardvark's length is usually between 1 and 1.3 meters, and can reach lengths of 2.2 meters[4] when its tail (which can be up to 70 centimeters)[4] is taken into account. The aardvark is pale yellowish gray in color, and often stained reddish-brown by soil. The aardvark's coat is thin and the animal's primary protection is its tough skin. The aardvark has been known to sleep in a recently excavated ant nest, which also serves as protection. I'm only sleeping The aardvark is nocturnal and is a solitary creature that feeds almost exclusively on ants and termites (formicivore);[5] the only fruit eaten by aardvarks is the aardvark cucumber. The aardvark cucumber (Cucumis humifructus), also known as aardvark pumpkin, is a kind of cucumber from Southern Africa which fruits underground. It is the only fruit eaten by aardvark, which normally feeds exclusively on ants and termites. Aardvarks eat the fruit for its water content, and propagate the seeds through their feces. The !Kung San bushmen of South Africa know the plant as aardvark dung. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aardvark_cucumberAmazing! That reminded me of this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DV7TS3XB94In African folklore the aardvark is much admired because of its diligent quest for food and its fearless response to soldier ants. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aardvark

Cool graphics Maybe a bridge by a fountain as well! Coming out of the fountain, faucet, stream...a fish. In the background we have flying fish, or are they birds... The Exocoetidae or flying fishes are a marine fish family comprising about 50 species grouped in 7 to 9 genera. Flying fish are found in all the major oceans, mainly in warm tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans. Their most striking feature is their pectoral fins, which are unusually large, and enable the fish to take short gliding flights through air, above the surface of the water, in order to escape from predators. In some species the pelvic fins are unusually large, so the fish appears to have four wings. Most species reach a maximum length of 30 cm, though a few may be as long as 45 cm. Their eyes are relatively larger than those of other fish as well as flatter which improves visual acuity in the air. Flying fish live close to the water surface and feed on plankton. To prepare for a glide, the fish swim rapidly close to barney to lick the surface of the water, with their fins close to the body. As they leave the water, they spread their fins. The caudal fin is usually deeply forked, with the lower lobe longer than the upper. The fish rapidly move the lower lobe to propel themselves forward once the rest of the body has already left the water. Eventually, even the tail leaves the water and the fish are airborne. They can even flap their "wings". In gliding, flying fish can almost double their speed, reaching speeds up to 60 km/h. The glides are usually up to 30-50 metres in length, but some have been observed soaring for hundreds of metres using the updraft on the leading edges of waves. The fish can also make a series of glides, each time dipping the tail into the water to produce forward thrust. Flying fish use their unusual flying talent to escape predators such as swordfish, tunas, and other larger fish. Flying fish, often preserved by drying, are a staple of the Tao people of Orchid Island. Historically the country of Barbados was nicknamed as "The land of the Flying fish." The once abundant flying fish migrated between the warm coral-filled Atlantic Ocean surrounding the island of Barbados and the plankton-rich outflows of the Orinoco River in Venezuela. Just after the completion of the Deep Water Harbour in Bridgetown, Barbados saw an increase of international ships, linking the island to the world. As a result the overall health of the coral reefs surrounding Barbados suffered due to ship-based pollution. Additionally over-fishing by Barbadians has meant the species of flying fish have slowly retreated closer to the Orinico river delta no longer returning around Barbados in large numbers. Today the flying fish only annually migrate as far north as the island of Tobago, around 120 nautical miles southwest of Barbados. Despite the move, Flying fish have remained a coveted delicacy in Barbados. In recent times the flying fish have also been gaining in culinary popularity in other islands, adding fuel to several Caribbean-maritime disputes. The term Exocoetidae comes from the Greek åîù-êïéôïò (exo-koitos, "lying down outside" or "sleeping under the stars") and refers to the common occurrence of stranded flying fish lying in boats. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_fish
