This photo really has me scratching my head. Anyone have any idea what is going on in this photo ? I know that it's Brian & Paul. What Brian has in his hand, and what he is trying to do with it, is what I can't quite figure out

I would take a stab at - Paul being "fitted" for his Madame Tussauds wax dummy/model.

Guess Old Epstein thought McCartney had a loose socket somewheres.

That's funny, Jo & Doc ! Great ideas, thisone & iameye ! I think that thisone might be onto something there. I think that Paul's shoulders look very narrow in that capture of his Tussaud's dummy. Paul was a smaller man than Bill/Faul.

I think thats a calipers doc! Momybird! "They're incredibly rare. Obviously there are various Beatles heads but these are on the most famous album cover of all time." The busts of John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison were used on the cover and are those seen on the left wearing dark suits. The waxwork head of Sir Paul McCartney was not used but is similar to the one used in the photo shoot. " news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/entertainment/4380296.stm

Congratulations! You have just found the "Crossover False Paul McCartney". His first appearance was on "Beatles For Sale" album cover Tip: see the strange "scar" on the chin, the different jawbone shape, the different nostrils, the embossed lips. He is NOT "our" Faul

This is getting interesting.... "Beatles For Sale" cover: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatles_for_Sale"Beatles for Sale is The Beatles' fourth album, released in late 1964 and produced by George Martin for Parlophone. The album marked a minor turning point in the evolution of Lennon and McCartney as lyricists, John Lennon particularly now showing interest in composing songs of a more autobiographical nature. "I'm a Loser" shows Lennon for the first time seemingly coming under the influence of Bob Dylan, whom he met for the first time in New York while on tour, on 28 August 1964.
Only six days separated the last full band session for A Hard Day's Night (2 June) and the first for Beatles for Sale. Prior to the new recording sessions, the band toured Australia and New Zealand (after a two-show night in Hong Kong), played concerts in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden and made several television, radio and live concert appearances in the UK. Music critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic said, "It was inevitable that the constant grind of touring, writing, promoting, and recording would grate on The Beatles," leading to ..." "...the band's visible weariness..."
